You would think after 127 (or whatever) hours of video they created that Yaeger CPA Review would get rid of the huge a$$ spider web that’s in the top left corner of every single video!

I've noticed it too and was wondering if it would be gone by the time I finished the last three videos!

That's their way of saying you've been studying so long that the housework has been neglected 🙂

    Ha LOL!

    after watching all those videos you notice other oddities as well;

how many times Phil says “Now” or “AND”

    FAR 61, 82! ( 11/9/12)
    AUD 67, (4/19/13) WAITING!!

I can't stand listening to Phil (alright…alright…alright). Don't know what it is, but I just can't sit through his lectures. Thinking of switching to Roger if I have to retake.

    Starting all over.

    FAR - 11/27/13
    AUD - 1/4/14

You guys hit it on the head. I'm sure Phil Yaeger is a very nice guy with his unlimited help over the phone and emails, but he is the worst instructor I ever tolerated on video. Just like Redstorm said, Phil said “alright” so many times and he lost his train of thought so many times that it was too distracting to learn anything from him.

Then after he's done with his lecture, he'll say something to try and reassure you that you have nothing to worry about for exam time. He'll say something like, “just read this section over a few times and you'll be fine.” Yeah right Phil, when was the last time you took this absurd CPA exam? 1962?

Phil also said that the Sims won't be as long as the ones in the Wiley book for FAR. Well Phil you may be almost correct with that part, but the Sim difficulty is about twice as worse as the Wiley book and he never mentioned that part.

Cindy and Gary are actually very clear and concise. Cindy is a little too hyper and fast-talking for me. I literally had to rewind parts of her videos dozens of times just to figure out what she was trying to say. Cindy teaches like she's racing against a clock in her head and it ends up backfiring because she drops her notes and pens 100 times. Haste makes waste, you can't ever go as fast as you envision in your head. She should get off the caffeine pills before the videos.

    ha lol!

do you think I should change for AUD- go to Bisk or Lambers?

No, if you already have Yaeger for AUD, stay with that. Gary is teaching all of AUD, and he's the only one I don't have complaints about, he understands the students perspective the best.

If you haven't bought any AUD yet, consider the best alternative from other people on this site.

and yet, for me Yeager is still the best learning tool for the material. I have watched Roger but he is too fast and it takes a long time to catch up. CPA excel is good at explaining material but not on focusing on what material we really need, and the MCQ are not as good, imho. Gleim test bank helps with difficult wording and breadth of material and Wiley test bank with more supposed test like wording. I'm interested to try CPAreview for free to see what their strengths are.

I am more confident learning with Yeager as a base, supplemented by the others.

I have posted several times about Phil. He mainly reads out of the book. Anytime I see his name come up on a lecture I automatically skip and just read the book. No matter how long it takes me to read or understand something myself, it is way better than listening to Phil “alright… alright… alright”.

The spider web means that Yaeger needs to call a maid to clean up the place 🙂

There gotta be some GAAS or Governmental funds mnemonic using “Spider”. Someone make it happen!
