Does anybody have those topics that represent a proverbial hurdle that you will just never get over? For me, it’s stock transactions. I don’t mean the easy stuff like treasury stock, basic EPS, etc., but the finer points of stock transactions–mainly compensatory stock options, stock rights, and things of that nature.

I have come to the realization that FAR has too much material to absolutely know every last detail cold. Based on past experiences, have you all found that the stock questions tend to test heavily on the broader topics or should I expect to see a lot of topics on the odd little areas?

Although I’m not quite there yet, when my final review comes around I’m going to have to make decisions about where I’m going to “cut my losses” and hope for the best, and I think this area is a definite contender for something that I will try, but move on quickly if I don’t get it.

    FAR 07/27/11 - 87
    AUD 10/01/11 - 85
    BEC 11/15/11 - 87
    REG 01/03/12 - 92

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I take FAR this Wednesday. Bonds have been my weakness. I wrote out the J/Es for bonds, and have tested myself on the MCQs for bonds several times with Becker. I also have the Wiley questions so I will quiz myself on Bonds and still only average about 60% right. I've learned from my mistakes before to not sit there dwelling on one subject for hours, especially since you might only get a couple questions relating to that topic on the actual exam. You're far enough away from your exam where you have time to nail your weaker areas. I've come to the point, as you were saying to “cut my losses” with bonds. I know it okay enough for exam purposes…. I think! … I better not get a huge SIM on bonds! lol

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

@peanut, just a word of advice, I would not recommend bonds as an area to “cut your losses”

    BEC 10/11/2010 77
    AUD 11/30/2010 81
    REG 02/25/2011 78
    FAR 11/28/2011 74,68, 83 and DONE!!! NTS LA #460
