I sat for the FAR on November 2010, and I barely touched the second sim because of time !!

I am retaking my exam next week with the new format, of course. the 7 small task based sims sounds better navigation and timing.

For those who sat for the exam within this year, did you feel it is a kind of better timing to have 7 small task based sims with the option of easy navigation among them than having two huge sims with no navigation option !?

I only took the exam this year so I can't give you a comparison, but time management is still an issue with the new format. The general consensus is that you should allow 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours for the SIMS. I had 1 1/4 hours, used almost all of it, and had time for just a quick check to make sure I filled in all the blanks.

I too have only taken exams this year, but time management is very important. Before a lot of people could run ot of time on the Sims and still pass, now the Sims are worth 40% of the exam, so running out of time is not a good idea. It would be hard to pass. The 7 shorter Sims are not as short as you may think…
