Luck is a huge part of this whole process…

I warn you though, the 2nd and 3rd testlets only get harder if you are doing well. If you don't do very well, they stay easy/medium. Having easy questions isn't actually in your favor as they are worth less…as for the Sims, it sounds like you lucked out! Although I have no clue how you finished them in 45 minutes! That gave you around 6 minutes per Sim…I couldn't have understood them in that amount of time, let alone finish them!

At the end of the day, these tests can go either way…I really hope you passed!

    BEC: 79 - April 2011
    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

agreed. i dont want you to discourage you, but i feel that you need the truth: there are two levels of questions on the exam — easy and “medium”. Testlet 1 starts you off at medium and depending on how you do, you either get another medium or an easy testlet 2. repeat again for testlet 3. if you're getting easy questions in testlet 2, that is a VERY bad sign. the only way you can get easy questions is by bombing the first testlet. however, if you did well on the easy testlest 2 questions, they will push you back into medium for testlet 3. assuming your T2 and T3 answers were more correct than T1, and you did well in the TBS, you may still pull off a passing score.

    BEC - 85 (Took May 2011)
    FAR - 94 (Took Jul 28 2011)
    REG - 87 (Took Aug 17 2011)
    AUD - 98 (Took Aug 31 2011)

idk, but it basically said the test was super duper easy and they were thanking the AICPA for giving them such an easy exam on the 3rd try…the MCQ were so easy and the Sims were a breeze even though they ran out of time…I felt bad for having to burst their bubble, but I think it is always best to stay in touch with reality…

Yeah, I took FAR and I remember thinking during the first testlet that this test wasn't going to be so bad. Then testlet 2 totally changed my mind LOL! I don't think I did well on it because the 3rd testlet came back down a little. The SIMS were crazy. I'm hoping I scraped out a 75!!

I took REG on Monday and didn't feel like the testlets got any harder so I know in the bottom of my heart that I failed. 🙁 But…there's always next time, right? As long as next time I pass, and I pass before I lose FAR.

    FAR 82
    AUD 81 (2007), 73, 80
    REG 68 (2010), 76
    BEC 58 (2007), 75 DONE!!!!

If it makes you feel any better, the only exam where I noticed a definite difference between testlet 1 and 2 was FAR. The questions were wordier, the calculations more complex, and the topics were the ones generally considered more difficult. With AUD the only change was that different topics were tested more heavily in 2 than in 1. I personally thought that at least one of these was more difficult, but I didn't know if that was the general consensus. With REG, I felt that I got a difficult testlet for 1 instead of a medium one. After breezing thru the first testlet on FAR and AUD, it was a shock to struggle with the first 2 questions on REG. For BEC, testlet 2 was maybe a tiny bit harder than 1 but not by much. I don't know that it's worth much, but my performance report showed me stronger in MCQ on all 4 exams.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

kb24, I noticed on EVERY exam that the testlet got harder. That's strange

    @Haze

I guess it depends on the exam you get and what you think is hard. I went thru the first testlet in FAR and double checked all my answers in 35 minutes but spent just over an hour on each of the next two with no checking. In both of them I had to force myself to move on from one tough MCQ so I'd have time for the SIMS. On the other exams there wasn't that much difference in how much time I needed per testlet.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

kb24, I guess we measure difficulty different. You measure it on how much time it took. For me all my testlets took the same amount of time. What I noticed were more complexed questions. First testlet always had questions that if I studied I more than likely knew the answer. The 2nd testlet would immediately start with harder more complexed questions. And if I was able to do well on the 2nd (FAR & AUD) the 3rd testlet would be just ridiculous.

I don't understand all the bubble bursting. Who would know better regarding if they knew the material on the exam, than the person who took the exam.

Remember the girl who posted “REG was way overhyped” and everyone was telling her she must be mistaken and she got a 90.

Pretty sure that a 90% would translate to like a 99 with the AICPA curve. We'll see how you did in a couple months!
