Taking (unexpectedly) FAR in one week

    Hi guys.

Yesterday I signed up to take FAR on Saturday, August 4th. I don’t feel prepared for the exam at all. I put in a lot of hours from early June until mid-July, but have studied approx 20 hours since mid-July. I decided to take the exam so early because the earliest other Saturday date was sometime in September. I figured take the exam and hopefully pass because waiting until September will be a lot of time.

I work at one of the big four so time is very limited. My plan is to do MCQs for 1-2 hours on Monday – Thursday, review notes for 2-3 hours on Friday, and take the exam on Saturday. Anything else I should be covering?

Do you guys think this is a good route to take? Should go ahead and take the exam and hope to pass, or should I study for another 1 1/2 month and take it in September? I’m really lost. Any advice or input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

You can't take it in September that is a black out month for testing so the earliest you could take it is in October. You may as well give it a shot and then if you don't pass you can always try again next window. Just work tons of mcq's this week.

Can I ask why you are in a hurry? If you don't feel have the confidence, I think you should take it in early October!
