Taking FAR without going thru most of the material?

Hello. First post here, I would really appreciate some advice.

I was planning to take 3 parts this summer, AUD, FAR and BEC. Since I don’t currently work, I thought I could do it; just to figure out that studying 10 hours/day for 3 months does not work for me. I need slow and steady.

I took AUD last month and failed with a 65. I have FAR scheduled in less than 2 weeks, but due to some personal problems I barely got thru half my lectures and I haven’t done too many MCQs yet so I’m more than behind at this point. My NTS expires on the 23rd, though, so I cannot really reschedule it. I’m debating if I should give up on FAR and focus on hopefully passing BEC at the end of the month (I’ve already started studying for it). Should I go take FAR just to see what it’s like, even though I know I have no chance? Thanks.

The key is that your NTS is going to expire and you can't reschedule. If you dont show its an auto fail. So show up and take Your exam. You have got two weeks. Ditch the lectures and do nonstop MCQs and TBS. Study each answer and understand why the answer is right and why the others are wrong. Write little fact nuggets and review them every day. You might be pleasantly surprised at score release. Good luck!

By no means just give up, I would say keep pounding out the multiple choice questions. I took FAR after only going through 3 chapters in my Becker book and miraculously passed so it can definitely happen. I dont know what classes you took in school but the ones i took (intermediate acct 1-2, advanced acct, governmental and non-for profit) deffinitly helped as well.

don't be a quitter. 2 weeks full time is more than enough time to get through the rest of the material. It will come down to your determination and commitment. you will need long days 10-14 hours, lots of coffee, lose your cellphone, dont waste time on the internet and you can do it. or you can make up an excuse. up to you.

    BEC 88 5/25/2013
    FAR 96 7/01/2013
    AUD 99 7/08/2013

I would just plow through it.

I skipped three chapters and I still passed. I watched the lectures and flashcarded key items, but I completely neglected to do the homework. I also did not practice TBS. I think it was just the luck of the draw.

Also, I did not meet the Becker promise requirement, nor did I even attempt to do it. Even worse, I did not study the week of the exam. I still passed, but barely. If I can do it, then anyone can.

    FAR 78
    REG 87
    BEC 78
    AUD 78
Passed all exams on first try! Good luck to everyone!
