Taking FAR this week

I have a couple of days left to study FAR. I’m finishing off with Ninja MCQ. Should I really be focusing much on Sims? I’ve heard that if you get the concepts and journal entries down, you can do decent on sims. I’ve never took any section before so i’m not sure what to except. There’s so many sims that are “Pick which fund this belongs to” or a “Is this LIFO, FIFO, etc.” or rather simplistic Sims. I don’t want to build up a false confidence and then 7 simulations are extremely in depth. Obviously i’m going to crank out a bunch more MCQs and try to retain as much information as possible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would recommend spending 2-3 hours skimming some of the TBS.

You probably won't get the same ones, but it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the different kinds/formats of questions you could see. For example, there are fill-ins, drop downs, Document review sims, and research sims. It's a good idea to briefly review them so that you wont be surprised on test day with a weird formatted sim. As the for the information and details within the sims, you can never know what your gonna get, but if you know the information you will do fine. Just make sure to leave yourself a lot of time – at least 1.5 hours.

    B- TBD
    A- Scheduled 8/816
    R- Scheduled 9/8/16
    F-84! (7/12/16)

i am taking FAR on Wed. this week!
have you spend any time reviewing/practicing SIM's?
If not at all….I would strongly suggest to do so (just few hours) don't over do it.

I personally am reviewing SIMs for cash-flows , EPS, ARO/ARC, GOV & NFP.

My previous exam was REG and passed it only using Becker, yet didn't spend anytime even close to half studying time for FAR……yet, I am freaking out just thinking about Wed exam!

    FAR is nasty! LOL

I'll just say any Sim on “Picking which fund this belongs to” is worth doing. That governmental stuff is a nightmare and you'll get a few MCQs forcing you to identify which fund they're talking about. GRaSPP SE PAPI

    BEC - 85
    AUD - 81
    REG - 84
    FAR - 7/24/16

I don't really like doing repeat questions (plus I just get sick of doing them in general), so once I'm done with the Ninja MCQs, I do the simulations. Takes about 2 days to finish all of them. Whether they helped or not is hard to say but I passed.

Yeah i'll be looking over that. I guess the uncertainty of what type of sims and how extensive they will be is nerve wrecking.

I think it's worth doing the SIMs but I wouldn't count on any drop down menus or a form of multiple choice. I think a lot of the SIMs in the review courses are outdated.

    BEC - 75 (3x)
    AUD - 78 (3x)
    REG - 67, 66, Aug 1
    FAR - 54, Sept 8
