    Hey guys.

    I need some advice.

I am currently reviewing chapter 9 for becker and going through the lecture right now. I should be done by midnight tonight. Ive done all of the supplemental questions leading up to chapter 9 and i feel comfortable with the materials already covered. Of course i dont remember everything from chapters 1-8 but i know i can pick up the concepts again once i do a question and read the answer. So i have three full days to just go over the 9 chapters by doing the mc questions and do some practice exams and CPAreviewforfree questions. My question is this. I just purchased the becker final review for this section and it is in front of me unopened. Should i spend a day and a half doing the final review? or should i just not open it and just do the multiple choice question on the becker software. I would do the final review if i was not on a time constraint but i feel like i can get more done but just doing the MC questions. Any thoughts?

    Thanks guys for your advice.

Just do MCs if you can return the Final Review. Also work simulations bc they are like a bunch a MCs that get very specific. It will help you reinforce concepts from the past and you might pick up some small detail you didn't know. I haven't used a Becker Final Review Product… just self study.

Thanks Driveismyasset… that is sort of the response i was looking for. From your past experience, how important is it to know journal entries and ratios? i understand that knowing journal entries is critical in answering some of the theory questions but is it really that important to know everything about them?

Ya, the becker final review is the condensed version of their regular software. I used it for BEC and FAR, and am finding it completely useless for AUD. I have done more studying though for audit than the other two aka read the book twice and done the multiple choice 3 times now. They don't really rotate any new multiple choice questions in and I'm pretty dissatisfied and annoyed I spent however much on the same materials for all 4 subjects….

    FAR 7/2 - 88
    BEC 7/30 - 87
    AUD 8/27 - 80
    REG 11/12 - 96

It really depends on what subject area you are talking about… if you know the Becker MCs you will be fine. FAR is mostly calculations but the theory and memorization tools becker has really help in answering theory ?s quickly so you can devote time to the longer questions… FAR was the most difficult time wise out of all the exams I have taken

I am in the same boat, taking the exam on 8/31. I started reviewing the book late last week, and am going through chapters 6 & 7 right now. It's amazing how much detail you forget as you initially progressed through the book. I'm hoping to be finished with reviewing the book, and just working MC questions until I pass out the next 3-4 days. Fingers crossed for a 75, I never want to have to look at another CPA book again.

I found the final review booklet to be useful as an overall review the day before the exam. I would recommend spending about 2 hours reading through the booklet and answering the questions in the booklet. Ignore the CD. The regular Becker multiple choice questions are highly representative as to what you will see on the exam (from my experience). And having a solid understanding of the concepts to answer the multiple choice questions will carry you through the simulations.

It really is amazing how easily one can forget the initial chapters as you approach the later chapters in your study guide. Imagine how much of this stuff will be forgotten after you've passed the section! What is this CPA exam testing again? =/

Honestly, I feel like this exam is just a test of our commitment and dedication towards the profession. Yes, it does reinforce concepts from college, but nobody is going to be able to retain this information. Just pay our dues like everyone before us, and move on. Good luck to everyone sitting for this exam before the end of this window!
