So I’ve decided to take FAR next. I’ve heard that it is the more challenging of the other sections. How long did it take you to study for FAR? What review material did you use?

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 88!!! DONE!!!!!!!!
    BEC - 76
    REG - 77

    never, never, never give up

I used Wiley book and Wiley Test Bank, took about 5 weeks for FAR while working full-time (and while having grandfather in the hospital nearly dying…), and passed with an 83. Technically, I used Ninja Blitz too because it was free for a week so I sat down one day and watched through the 3 hours of FAR videos…but that wasn't a primary resource – just a “it's free so I'll bite” type thing.

I'll be taking it Tuesday. I've been studying for about two months. I can't compare to other sections, as this is the first section I will have taken. I'm using Becker and the Wiley test bank. Given the vast amount of material, I'd suggest keeping really good notes. Complete a section, then do a review of all the sections. Keep doing this. I know it sounds like a pain, but it will help you from forgetting everything like I did. I got to my two week review and panicked because I had to relearn a lot.

Hope that helps. Good luck 🙂

    Passed all sections.

I'll be using Becker, just bought the FAR review course. I also have CPA Excel to supplement, just in case. Looks like 3 months of studying will be plenty of time to be prepared for exam. I definitely will be taking detailed notes, like I did for my other exams. I am curious – are there any topics on IFRS?

Good luck on your exam, @Kls238!

IFRS is thrown in randomly in each chapter of Becker! What I did was rip out the tables at the back of the Becket book that summarize IFRS differences and made little notes on those pages as IFRS was mentioned in the chapters. It helped me keep the differences fresh in my mind as I went through the lectures.

I used Becker, supplemented with Wiley Test Bank during final review week.

    Good luck!
