I was wondering is it a good idea to spend next 2 days going over Yaeger Cram dvd and then take the exam the next day? Or should i give myself like an extra 1-2 days after the Cram Dvds and then take the exam?

Good question; have you checked the Yaeger website for their recommendation on how to use the product?

Take it as soon as you can after you do the cram.

For what it's worth, Becker recommends doing their Final Review as close to the exam as possible.

What I like to do is, if I can, work it out so I'm done before dinner the night before the exam. Then I have a nice relaxing evening with a clear mind the night before the exam.

I disagree. I've used the Yaeger crams and know that you need time to review any problem areas you have that are mentioned in the DVDs. If you don't have enough time, you will realize you have a problem area, but you won't have any time to do anything about it. I would recommend giving yourself at a least 3 or 4 days to assimilate the cram (even if you did the homestudy) so you can review some problems that you need work on.

I prefer to only do light studying the final day before the exam. In my opinion, by then you either know the material or you don't.

Sleeping after studying helps allow you to retain more information. I'd take the long haul and do 20 hrs for at least 4 weeks for most exams and double that for FAR.

I tried studying last night before bed and then could not go to sleep. I will not do that again tonight!

Get a good night of sleep. Really being fresh and rested is going to add more points than staying up late trying to master new material. I have read that the studying before going to bed helps you retain the information. But the night just before the exam should be focused on getting plenty of rest, staying focused, going over what you already know. Build your confidence. Stay calm. I also try to make sure I eat before the exam. Don't want to be distracted by an empty tummy – feed the brain!

Good luck tomorrow! You sound much more relaxed and confident. You have put in the time and now beat the Beast!

I've purchased cram for REG and realized this is not what I would call “cram”. I could not get through the half of the material. Cram to me is just going through my regular book and reinforcing the highlighted concepts (should not take more than 2-3-4 hrs). Material that needs 2-3 days to go through and then 3-4 days to settle is not cram, but simply study material…

Building your confidence before the exam by whatever works well for you is a good idea. Going early to bed is a good idea provided you can go to sleep and not be thinking of “subordinated debentures with detachable warrants”…

CPAwannabe GOOD LUCK tomorrow! You know you can do it! Good luck to whoever is taking exams this week. This is the lucky week!

Well, my exam is on Wed (after a reschedule, long story) and I watched about 5-6 hrs of the cram yesterday and found it to be little slow/boring. Its good information but since I know I my weakness, I think I'm better off going over those areas and practice those major concepts (formulas, rules, etc). I was thinking of playing it and just fast forward to specific areas (which I might try later or tomorrow) but I'm going to take a practice exam after lunch and go from there.

If the cram was more like 8hrs, I think it would be more beneficial vs 18-20 hrs, don't you think? I mean the regular FAR homestudy is about 2x a long (approx 40 hrs) and I think what makes up the difference are the M/C questions and simulations they go over (which they don't do in the cram). Like what FARbehind saids, it does feel like a “cram”

There's no way to do a REG “cram” in 8 hours…the material is too complicated and vast…maybe if it was just tax or just law/ethics.

Phil would be doing a disservice to you if he only taught for 8 hours.
