RoxwellaMemberJust got an email from NASBA, says, “Scores from test results that were received day 1 – 20 by the AICPA were scheduled to be release on November 5th. The release of these scores will be delayed approximately one week or more” ……

supervisorParticipantTHANK YOU KRICKETTTT!!!!!! Try telling the people in the score release thread that. I'm waiting for my last score too and although I was anxious, i wasnt super upset to hear of the delay today. I went without power for two days because of the storm and thought that was the worst two days ever. Kept reminding myself that there are others out there that has it far worst than I did. Score release is delayed for a week and everyone is freaking out. Craziness.
BEC 10/13 PASSED 77
AUD 04/12 PASSED 83
FAR 08/12 PASSED 76
REG 02/13 PASSED 76Licensed in PA on 12/23/13. Yea boy!!

jenuno01MembermIa I agree with you, as usual. We all have our struggles and have the right to vent about issues regardless of their relative importance; however, when a storm of this magnitude is referred to as a “stupid wind” because it caused a 1 week delay in CPA score releases. Really? Candidates used to wait MONTHS before getting scores. I think a little sensitivity wouldn't hurt. I know how frustrating waiting for scores is. But at this point, you either passed or failed. Does it matter whether you find out tomorrow or next Friday?

RoxwellaMemberDo I need you two internet “Parent figures” lecturing me about whether or not I should be angry that my scores are delayed another week, hell no. You wanna guilt trip me about wanting a score, you go for it.
Though, this is a site for people studying for/waiting for exam scores
An ya jenuno01, I definitely could, but wont. No need to start that silliness up. Obviously the hurricane sucks, how much you let it effect your life, is your decision. I really don't need you telling me what you are telling me, and wont be responding to this again, so, hurricane it up! (Oh ya..Ive been through two different hurricanes, they arent fun)

Red315MemberWell said Kricket. I am a life long Floridian and until you have been through a hurricane you have no clue. Complaining about score delays while people have no power, food , clothing or homes is pretty damn selfish.
I have a great respect for these storms because I have been through so many of them. Have some compassion for people that can't even have their basic needs met.
Delayed scores is just a small incovenience that will be forgotten in a week. These people are going be dealing with this mess for months and years in some areas.

LSNYCMemberThank you Kricket! I want to post this on my Facebook wall! While i was directly hit i got very lucky but know many people who were not so lucky, including 3 families in the neighborhood that burnt down.
I know people complain, including myself about unimportant things all the time. I however feel as thought starting a thread about scores being delayed while there are people on this board who have lost a great deal seems a little insensitive, we still have about 4 million people without power (as of this morning) and areas where homes stood where they will never even be able to rebuild again, in additional to many other problems Sandy caused.
I am waiting on a score too and was actually hoping for a pass to lift my spirits but waiting a week right now isn't that big of a deal. Every still effected by the storm stay safe and be careful!
A - 61, 91!!
B - 78!
F - 76!!!
R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!Finally done!
This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!
November 2, 2012 at 1:36 am #381039
mla1169ParticipantRoxwella people who have passed all 4 parts of the exam are a very intergral part of this board. Ironic that you feel you have the right to say what you want to by telling others they don't have that same right.
Jenuno you're right, the stupid wind comment was wrong. I have to laugh at the “how much you let it affect your life is your decision” comment. If only it were that simple.

mgoloubenkoMemberIn the grand scheme of things, no one on this thread is saying that the super storm was a joke or taking the tragic deaths and loss of people's homes and livelihoods lightly. I know because I'm from Staten Island where we have half an island without power and a body count that has now reached 20. However, I'm having a lot of trouble understanding the AICPA's general lack of preparation and lack of a contingency plan for such scenarios. Yes people lost their homes, how is that related to the daily happenings of the AICPA? We are speaking about a score release for days 1-20. Not 20-40 when the actual storm hit. These scores should have been processed long before the storm. Maybe I just have an issue showing leniency towards organizations like the AICPA that show candidates zero empathy ( refusing to extend 18 month windows for deaths in the family) yet expect every CPA candidate to be sympathetic to their generally pathetic contingency plan.

AnonymousInactiveI agree with @mgoloubenko here. Someone may have made an insensitive post at some point downplaying the severity and seriousness of the storm, so I'll begin by saying I completely understand there are much more important things than my CPA exam score. However, it's still frustrating to have an org like the AICPA appear so unprepared in a situation like this.
November 2, 2012 at 5:55 am #381044
AnonymousInactiveI really want to type something nice for the pricks who think their CPA grade is soooooooooooo important that it should be released while thousands of other candidates are stuck with no power, lost family, or lost homes; I'll keep it short though.
This isn't about YOU. This is about the other candidates in distress.
Man I wouldn't even want to put myself in someone's shoes who just lost a home or a loved one to ”stupid wind” followed by a lovely 74 on a last section.
Man up and wait it out. You've been waiting for a month, another week won't hurt. Your grade isn't going to change.

AnonymousInactiveI just want to apologize if I offended anyone. I was certainly not trying to be anyone's parent, although I am old enough. HaHa Some of you know about my recent health struggles and I found out Wednesday that I have a ton of wonderful ulcers along with a boatload of other problems in my throat and stomach, none of them are going to kill me now, thanks to God and a very skilled surgeon, but I will have to live with them the rest of my life. By sending that post I was simply following doctors orders. He said that I had a tendency to keep things bottled up inside and that I have let this exam take over my life and nearly destroy my health. So I took the lid off the ragin' Cajun's box for a few minutes. I can't, and don't want to, count the hurricane's I've been in or seen destroy the lives and property of my friends and family. I do tend to take them personally because know how traumatic they can be. If there is anything I can do for anyone I would be glad to help in any way.
I personally think they should extend the window because I know how hard it is to study when you are spending more time looking at Jim Cantore than your review course. You aren't learning anything or absorbing any material. Sometimes the waiting until landfall is the worst, because they don't know where these things are headed and you don't know what to do. But then I don't agree with the blackout months in the first place.
I also understand that waiting an extra week for a score is a huge pain, but I would rather the AICPA make sure their systems are working properly, that they are following all of their audit procedures and that the grades released are the correct grades. Being told you got a 74 because things were rushed when you really had a 76 would suck.
So, once again, I apologize if I offended anyone. That wasn't my intention. Good Luck everyone and please, please, please, stay safe! Your life is more important than three letters after your name.

jcoley3411MemberWAKE UP PEOPLE. We knew about this hurricane way before it hit the U.S. You would think that someone with a brain would know to move the test scores from a facility that is in direct line with a hurricane to somewhere in the midwest not even near the ocean. No excuse for this…hurricane or not. Have a back up plan.
BEC 79 PASSED
FAR 75 PASSED
AUD 67, 77 PASSED
REG 73, 83 PASSED DONE FOREVER!November 2, 2012 at 3:51 pm #381047
nimmle02MemberHow about you chill out? They were still in the process of reviewing the scores when they lost power for at least a week. The AICPA has only one office that runs the actual grading. Even though they can have the exams stored in backup locations, the examinations team is in NJ and only NJ.
I know it sucks. I am currently displaced from my home because of Sandy and I am grateful that I have a place to go. There are so many people who are trapped with no electricity, heat, running water, and dwindling food and fuel supplies.
So hang out and thank whatever force you believe in that you are actually here on this earth to wait for exams to come out rather than crushed by a tree or swept away by storm surge.
