    hey

so im studying for the FAR, my first section and i noticed ive completely forgotten all the material from my financial acct classes. even tho im only recently out of school with my masters, it was in tax and it has been about 3 years since my last financial acct class. i work full time in acct but i rarely use most of the stuff on the FAR at my job. what do you think should be the average time to study for FAR? ive heard 6-8 weeks but i feel that is not enough. im already in my 4th week or so and im only about half thru my first of two FAR textbooks (using cpaexcel). im estimating at least 3 months of studying before i feel confident to take it

    any tips or pointers?

Things you don't get one week will suddenly be so easy a week or 2 later. So keep going with the material. But refresh periodically. Things you thought you had down path, no way you'll forget, one week you may just start blanking on it, so constantly go back to old material you haven't seen in a while maybe by doing cumulative progress test or something. And leave plenty of time to review everything, like 2 weeks.

by 2 weeks of review I mean re-review. Also it better to rush your initial review and get everything done with then to rush your re-review, so if you plan to study for 8 weeks: 6 weeks of review and 2 weeks of re-review, is better then 7 weeks of review and 1 week or re-review. In conclusion try to stay with or be ahead of your proposed study schedule, don't fall behind.
