Tomorrow I will be starting to study for FAR full-time. I quit my job and will leave to Japan sometime in October. How much time is necessary for this section? I am not one of those crazy people who can study and pass a section in 3 weeks. I am planning on 2-3 months. What do you recommend?

Also, for those of you studying full-time do you have any tips for studying all day? How many hours do you actually study a day? How often and how long are your breaks? Do you take 1 day off a week or just study every single day?

Hi Calicpa – I recommend following Jeff's plan. Watch all of your study course videos before working assigned questions. Write notes, do MCQ's like crazy, and then re-write your notes if you have time.

I don't have a job right now so I study about 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. I take breaks when I feel I need it. I probably take 5 or 6 breaks that are about 5 to 10 minutes long. I also take about 1/2 hr to eat lunch.

You have to find what works for you. 2 – 3 months for FAR is a good amount of time. I spent 4 months studying FAR and it was too much time. I wish I had only spent 2 or 3 months and followed Jeff's plan more closely.

I pretend it's a job so I study from 8am – 4pm, taking breaks for water every couple of hours and lunch around 12 .. Taking a day off is a good idea for your sanity. 2 1/2 months is a good study window.

I think that 3 months would be too long, but you need to decide what you can do. I paged through my study material, made a plan of attack, then plotted it on a calendar.

I think doing a review of everything you covered so far once a week is important. FAR is very comprehensive and it can be easy to forget what you studied in the first week when you get to the end of your review.
