Hey guys, I just scheduled to take FAR on 05/04/13 (My first attempt and section). I have been using the Becker material for the reading and Wiley testbank for practicing problems.I have done mostly reading so far, i practiced some questions so far but not too many. I just finished reading chapter 3 in Becker.

I am thinking to weigh most of the questions practice till before the questions because I think that way it will sink in better. To basically just cram questions and TBS the last 3 weeks. I have the Becker final review which is sort of a summary, I am thinking to buy the Ninja notes, but I feel like I won’t have enough time to do the Becker final review and that too. What do you think?

Any tips about studying? Too much material and sometimes hard to know where to start from. I work full-time too.

Hey Jad! Welcome to A71 🙂

I just wanted to let you know I edited your post just to remove the local study group part. Jeff tries to steer clear of that so the boards don't get flooded with city by city study groups and also for everyone's safety.

Hey Jad, I just took FAR, and I'm only working part time so I have a lot more time to dedicate to study, but for me I found the best way to grasp concepts was to read the section of the chapter and then do the MCQ's on that section. For instance, if I read about “Timing Issues” in F-2, after I finished that one section I would do the MCQ's on that section. I haven't gotten my score back yet, as I only took it this Saturday the 23rd, but what I like about that approach is your reading the specific material then solidifying it with the MCQs and if you jot down notes while reading and also while doing the MCQs, then those notes and concepts are much closer together when it comes time for final review. Hope that makes sense, and of course I can't guarantee what works, as I only just took FAR, but I think that will be the approach I continue to use going forward.

Hello there, thanks for the advice, i haven't thought about that really. My approach has been to finish a whole chapter then practice problems but maybe your way is easier to manage, i will give it a shot. Did you start forgetting stuff as you moved on from one chapter to another? I am kind of having that problem. Also, are you using anything aside from Becker?
