    Hey everyone, so I took FAR in May and got a 46 then again in Sept and got a 49…clearly I missing the majority of the information. I graduated college in 09 and financial was never my strong point. I currently am relying solely on NINJA…Watched Bisk videos (loved them) then hammered MCQ and watched the blitz and did flash cards when I could. I should be honestly that I never read the book or re-wrote the notes…so not executing full NINJA protocol.

    Should I

    A: Buy a different review course and start from scratch?
    B: Actually read the NINJA book, rewrite the notes, re-watch the videos (for a 3rd time…ugh), and hammer MCQ and note cards?

    I am a very visual learner and I realized I am not doing anything very VISUAL in my review..sure I took notes during the videos but not while doing MCQ or anything. I would prefer to not buy another review course but my scores are screaming at me that I am not grasping the info…

    Any thoughts on my next action would really help a girl out! Thanks!

    Is this the same method you used for the last two attempts? How are your scores in Ninja? I used Ninja exclusively last window and finally passed this section, so I think it can be done, but it depends on how you learn. I discovered that just doing questions are better for me to learn the material. I would maybe check out Roger's videos. You say you are a visual learner, and he is a very visual dude.

    How much time are you studying? Try to really follow your current review course recommendations. I know what its like to have been out of school so long. Its been 20 years for me. The most challenging obstacle for me has been figuring out the perfect study plan. What are you doing other than MCQ, do you review your notes or make flashcards?

    I'd say do more interactive study. Write notes as you do MCQs, read the Ninja notes and re-write them. Follow the Ninja method to a T,wait to schedule the next exam till your trending at or above 75. If your struggling to get there check out farhart accounting lectures, he's an accounting professor that posts all his lectures on you tube. It's free and really made a difference for me in my understanding of fund accounting for governmental. I wouldn't purchase a new product until you've followed your current products recommend methodology or it expires.

    In my experience for FAR, the most helpful thing was drilling Wiley MCQS. For other sections (and on the old CPA), Ninja MCQs were fine, but they were nothing like the new FAR exam. Wiley on the other hand is right on the money. I’d still those and TAKE NOTES (short one-sentence notes) when you get a question wrong. Use those notes as you answer other questions. I used excel to copy and paste the correct answers/explanations so I could CTRL F for guidance

    BEC - 69, 77, 83
    AUD - 63, 68, 70, 79
    REG - 69, 63, 70
    FAR - 60

    @jennifer yes same study method for last 2 exams. :/ I didn’t get through all the material the first time, and it was a new version of the test so i assumed that accounted for some of my pathetic score…but after getting just 3 points higher the second time I see there’s a bigger issue!

    @msquared17
    I study about 20 hours a week. I was just doing MCQ- I didn’t review notes or make flashcards. I did use the flashcards that came with NINJA

    @kay I like your idea of more interactive study. I defiantly am missing something. Good point about not purchasing new products until I follow the methodology or it expires! I will check out Earhart- thank you!

    @barnold thanks for the tip on short notes, I will try that.

    Thanks all!
