Hello all, just wanted to post so I can hopefully get some advice/tips/encouragement.

I just sent in my paperwork to test again. This will be my second go around at the CPA. I originally started studying in Summer 2011. I took AUD then FAR, didn’t pass either. Got really discouraged and haven’t taken a part in a year.

I’m motivated again and hopefully I don’t repeat some of my studying mistakes I made before. I used Becker last time, and while it was ok I really felt like I didn’t get much out of the underlining, highlighting or video lectures. This time I’m going to focus on MCQ and note taking. I’m planning to use the Wiley Test Bank with Wiley Text. I noticed the testbank was much cheaper on another71.com at $199 –

Do I still get access to everything I get if I bought it for $299 on wiley’s website?

My main problem in studying is that I’m a slow worker. I had trouble getting through all the study material in the past, especially on FAR. I know I didn’t pass the first 2 exams because I didn’t cover the material as thoroughly as I should have. I just worked too slowly and didn’t get through it all even though I put in the recommended amount of hours for each section. I made good grades in college but I was always that guy who turned in his test last. Any tips on being efficient or how to study effectively with the test bank would be appreciated. I’m planning on taking FAR first.

    Thanks!

2nd attempt at this thing. Time to get serious.

Just bought the Test Bank. Thanks for saving me some money, I blew way too much on Becker last time.

@ak311 Just wanted to say… I know how you feel… I graduated with a 3.9 and studied my butt off to get it but I was always always the last one out of the exam in school. I'm just not quick. And in all honesty I studied 6 months for FAR. Ridiculous I know (to some defense on this I also work at a firm and have two kids) but some of us will just take longer to get through this and will need to exceed the recommended study time. Those who are quick just won't get this but you only need to worry about what works for you. I have a friend who passed all four sections within 6 months – all scores in the 90s. Just not happening for me. But us slow processors can get through this too!

Personally I'd rather study extra and pass the first time than study twice over.

I used Becker and Wiley test bank. Loved Wiley test bank – I'm completely convinced it gave me the extra I needed to pass FAR the first time around.
