    Hello,

I just started studying FAR and I feel like I’m way over my on this stuff. I’m I suppose to know this stuff? I look at a problem, and I don’t even know where to begin. I feel so dumb, I know it is not suppose to be easy. Did any of youOsmanthus had/have this issue? How have you addressed it? I’m thinking focusing on just working MCQs over and over.

    Thanks!

im in the same boat, i started studying for FAR in late july and most of the material was foreign to me. now i just read the text before doing the questions for each chapter. if i had just did the questions without reading the text i would prolly get 10% to 20% correct, now its more like 50 to 60%

I do go over the videos and go back and read the chapter. I will try to maybe take notes as I read. Thank you!

One of the biggest things with FAR seems to be the mental aspect of it. You just have to keep pushing through it and not let it overwhelm you. I don't know what study materials you are using, but I know Becker is a bit overkill when it comes to their homework MCQs. I basically stopped doing MCQs around F4 because it was just so time consuming. If I had to do it over again, I would probably just focus on the “Newly Released 20XX” MCQs since they were the types that you would have actually seen on the CPA exam; they also tend to be less lengthy and involved than some of the other MCQs presented.

I doubt there is anyone that went into FAR thinking they were completely comfortable with 100% of the material. Hell, I just took FAR yesterday and I might not have been comfortable with 50% of it, but I knew enough to hopefully do well enough to pass. Just stick with, realize that you aren't going to be able to — nor do you have to — master every part of FAR to pass it.

    REG - 93 (7/30/13)
    BEC - 90 (8/19/13)
    AUD - 98 (8/31/13)
    FAR - 84 (10/19/13)
