My Tigers are going to the ACC on my birthday, but I can’t go for obvious reasons. Of course, no one understands the sacrifices we make like my fellow CPA candidates.

My friends are giving me a hard time because I have already taken my kids to see Santa, baked Christmas cookies, built a gingerbread house and have done my Christmas shopping… all because I have the exam I need to focus on.

On a positive note, when my in-laws come for the holidays, I can say “See ya. I need to go study for my exam.”

fortunately, ive not missed out on anything. I havent missed out on any birthdays, parties, party buses, going to festivals, going to baseball games and its unlikely ill miss out on holiday festivities this winter. but then again im only 24, and dont hav kids, though i do work full time. also, ive never really had alot of free time to play video games or get into any hobbies. i was in grad school and working full time and after grad school is when i started studying for the cpa exam, so it was all kind of the same schedule so i havent really had to sacrifice much. anyways, hope you all take the time to enjoy these holidays and the people around you anyway and good luck on ur exams!
