So what are you missing out on this time of year for the CPA?

My Tigers are going to the ACC on my birthday, but I can’t go for obvious reasons. Of course, no one understands the sacrifices we make like my fellow CPA candidates.

My friends are giving me a hard time because I have already taken my kids to see Santa, baked Christmas cookies, built a gingerbread house and have done my Christmas shopping… all because I have the exam I need to focus on.

On a positive note, when my in-laws come for the holidays, I can say “See ya. I need to go study for my exam.”

Cherish the “I have to study” excuse while you have it…

I did skip Thanksgiving this year but I refused to miss Black Friday…I am currently on 1 and half hours sleep and trying to study BEC which I am taking on Monday. I am literally running on caffeine right now. I lost count of how many cups of coffee I have consumed today!!!

I am missing being a real mom ! Now, don't throw anything at me, but yes, I am one of those moms that bought a “slice of cake” in a plastic container at Publix for my son's 16th b-day! Can't get much worse !!! Looking forward to “being there” for the next one though 🙂

I didn't celebrate my birthday this year and will not be doing anything for Thanksgiving aside from making the mandatory appearance at the dinner table for about 45 minutes, then back to the books.

The one thing I regret most is that I couldn't properly celebrate my 5 year anniversary with my boyfriend in August because I was taking BEC on the 31st. I'm keeping in mind that we'll more than make up for it this Christmas/New Year's if I pass REG.

@CPAWannaBe, I'm rooting for CLEMSON in the ACC championship game because I'm a UVa fan and I *HATE* Virginia Tech! Thanks so much for beating them back in October! (I'm also aware that they haven't clinched the Coastal yet, but trust me, they will. GO TIGERS).

I know I'm lame for this one, but as an avid gamer I'm missing all the amazing Fall releases. MW3, Skyrim, Dark Souls, Arkham City, new Zelda….. the list goes on.

I wouldn't miss Thanksgiving for anything though.

    REG: 85
    AUD: 74, 85
    FAR: 74 (sigh)
BEC: 80 (don't even ask me how)

I'm in complete agreement with you Nadia & JoMarie! (Both fabulous names by the way!!!)

I've become a completely different person. Especially in the past month, I become angry very quickly and I've been excessively unhappy at home and at work and I'm usually bubbly and not easily pissed off… I'm sooo looking forward to being reunited with my old, happy self.

I'll be missing out on a very BADLY needed break. I'm so tired and haven't had a vacation from work this past year. I wish I could just relax and have some fun, but my face will be in the books I'm afraid.
