So dumb!

I find myself in serious trouble at the moment. My exam is on 7/27 and I am currently going through my F5 final review. The questions are KILLING me not because I can’t do them but because I am not alert at all. The little details and tricks they love to slip into the questions are catching me every time–even on ones that I previously got right! To make matters worse, a huge personality flaw of mine causes me to get extremely angry when I get questions wrong (which obviously leads to getting more questions wrong because I’m heated).

With less than five full days till the exam, this is not a good time for a meltdown…

I can completely relate. I get very angry when I don't get questions right, and it causes me to just get more wrong that I know. I know you don't want to hear this but in my opinion I say call it quits for the night, chug a couple of beers, get a good nights rest. Tomorrow, wake up at the @$$ crack of dawn, with a fresh mind, and pound out more MCQs. You got this!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

I know the feeling, I feel like I am losing focus and getting burned out but with 4 days to go I can't afford to take any time off. It is so frustrating getting questions wrong and forgetting things you thought you knew.

I like your attitude becaue you want to do well on the exam but i think you should take a little break. You will find questions on the exam that are from another planet and it is important that you stay calm and move on. You are only on your first exam and at this rate your brain will blow up by the time you get to reg. good luck.

Yeah…I think I'm going to give this a rest until tomorrow. If I go into bonds with my current state of mind, I think this computer will very soon take flight across the room.

This happens to me too when I get burnt out. I get up and walk around the house for a bit, or have a snack, or go lie down and close my eyes for a bit.

I work the same way, if I get one wrong, it leads to the next one being wrong which eventually leads to a tailspin the trick is to take every question one by one, instead of dwelling on the question before

Get some rest…5 days going into an exam, you should definitely work on areas which you struggle and not only get frustrated about getting wrong answers, but learning from them. The few days before an exam, I'd do progress tests and confidence building questions. The exam is just as much about confidence than it is about raw memorization.
