So lately I have slacked off on studying for AUD. I take the test in 2 1/2 weeks and don’t feel good about it at all. Just wondering what the most crucial sections to spend a lot of my time on are. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Internal control is the most important, then Evidence, and then the reports. Know your internal control and evidence inside out, also know the 10 auditing standards and be able to apply them to any situation.

    AUD - 81, BEC - 74, 80, FAR - 82, REG - 81
    Done!

I take the test this Friday. Just been going over every MCQ every which way. I use Wiley so i can't speak for Bisk, but I was sure to hit all the sample testlets and AICPA released questions in the book. Good luck!

bluecrush – I'm with you I have 2 1/2 weeks and can't get motivated to do anything for studying. I'm going to try and set goals of what to get done each day/week. I want to have a lot done before results start coming out next week so I don't get thrown off from whatever way they go.

    FAR 7/2 - 88
    BEC 7/30 - 87
    AUD 8/27 - 80
    REG 11/12 - 96

I am in the same boat as you. I take my test on the 27th and I have only put in 18.5 hours, which has gotten me through almost the first two chapters of Becker. I watch my cousins and they start school next Friday, so I have been trying to spend as much time with them as possible. I am hoping that I can get some good studying in the last week before my test they will be in school and I have taken off work. The subject matter puts me to sleep when I am taking MCQs and I try not to watch the videos when I am tired or falling asleep because I know the information will not stick.

    BEC 7/20/10 88 (90 hours)
    AUD 8/27/10 73 (65 hours), retake 11/22/10 81 (75 hours)
    FAR 10/28/10 80 (157 hours)
    REG 1/7/10 extended to 1/17/10 78 (130 hours) I'M DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have plenty of time for auditing! I was in the same boat in May when I took the test, terrible slacking… First my wife's aunt passed from her long fight with Breast cancer that spread to her lungs (4 days gone bye bye), then it was waiting for my BEC score prior to taking the AUD section. Not much studying in that prediction time period. I probably in total put in about 55 hrs from the last week in April to the last week in May. Got a 75 so I must have studied just enough, IMO Gary Bulmash from Yaeger is a great professor, a bit odd and he coughs a lot, but his stuff really sinks in. Anyway for the topics, definitly IC as has been stated and the reports! know the differences between them, know what report needs modifications and to what paragraphs. This was one thing Gary beat to a pulp! odly know the report date info, how long after you can make modifications to the wp's, what needs to be done… also the record retention! I can tell you the weekend before I read the Standards in the back of the wiley book for the subjects I was in question on (another Gary suggestion – that really helped!!) Hope this helps, 1 week left now… GL

    BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!

this might be a bit of a dumb question, but when you say questions regarding internal control, do you guys mean the components of internal control (CRIME mnemonic in becker)? I feel like I/C is kind of peppered around everywhere throughout the material, but I guess that's how it should be.

Also, I HATE audit evidence, trying to figure out what evidence backs which assertion for those pesky transaction cycles drive me insane!!!

    FAR: 8/5/2010 - 89
    AUD: 8/24/2010 - 92
    REG: 10/11/2010 - 94!!
    BEC: 11/30/2010

@joohj1187, I cannot speak for everyone else but the IC I am speaking about (didn't use Becker so I am not sure what CRIME means…) are the systems, example – how A/P works what is the cycle of events. Also I think knowing when to test IC is important “when the benefit (reduced sub tests) exceed the cost (increased IC tests). Another thing on IC that I would point out is the IC-HAMBO mnemonic not real important, its a small section in IC that is worth knowing. Hope that helps… P.S. – know audit evidence its simple really, knowing the assertions can be difficult that was one thing I beat up over the last weekend. Know what type of evidence is best/worst, it may only be a couple of question, but every one counts, trust me lol.

    BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!

Thanks for your help! I'm starting the cram session for i/c and evidence tomorrow, hopefully most of it will stick.

I'm also wondering if governmental audits are heavily tested on the AUD exam? Maybe it's the leftover feeling from FAR, which had a significant amount of questions on governmental…any feedback would be appreciated!

    FAR: 8/5/2010 - 89
