Skip ahead to Governmental and NFP?

I struggled with Gov & NFP in college and in reviewing my schedule… I am worried I might run out of time before I even get to study it… is there any reason why I can’t skip ahead to work on that and then come back? I am using Yaeger homestudy if that helps any. Thank you 🙂

I guess I should say I *will* make sure I look at every chapter/module, but I would rather not be pressed for time with Gov & NFP vs. other modules.

Why not give yourself enough time to appropriately study all of the content? Seriously, people wonder why they fail sometimes? I don't understand why you are already considering cutting corners before you have even started studying.

    Wow… Attitude much?

I have been studying since Mid August, and the exam is scheduled for 10/27. I have studied 90 hours already and I just finished module 12. By my calculations I need to study another 140 hours to finish all of the material. Which gives me 4 weeks to do so if I want 2 weeks to do a thorough review… 90+140+40 = 270 hours. How is that cutting corners?

I am still not sure if doing governmental and non profit out of order would cause problems with anything… which was my main question.

ETA: I also said I am *worried* about it, not that I would just skip it completely. I am trying to be proactive by making sure I study a subject that is not exactly my best.

In your initial post, you were concerned that you would run out of time. You should never feel like that.

Going out of order is not usually the right thing to do since often one chapter builds on the prior chapters. However, I don't think it is a big deal if you do government and NFP out of order.

@KnightsCPA…. I don't believe it would. When I took FAR I studied it out of order. I didn't have a problem. I wouldn't suggest skipping it (which I know that isn't what you are saying) as a lot of my questions were on that. Good Luck!

Thank you silliepanda & Minimorty. I will try studying it next week when I at least have some time to work on things if I run into any problems with the material.

You got this! You can do it .. just keep telling yourself (because this is what I repeat to myself daily … if not hourly).

@mmcgrad1 – I think you misread the post. He/she is wanting to skip other stuff and do governmental and NFP first to make sure there is enough time to work on it, and then go back and do what's left.

Yes, my mistake. I think skipping to do gov and NFP is the right thing to do since it is the OPs weakness.

If government and not-for-profit are your weak points, I would actually suggest studying it last so it's more fresh in your head come test time. I took FAR 8/30/12 and there were quite a bit of questions in those areas… more than I expected anyway. I reviewed them last and it worked out well for me!
