    Hi everyone,
So I just got a 68 in FAR (absolutely SUCKS). I didn’t finish the exam, only completing 2 out of 7 SIMS. Should I start from the top or review notes and hammer MCQ? Also seeing as we lose a test window, should I retake FAR in q2 and squeeze REG in q2? or take REG in q3? I passed AUD and BEC and they start expiring on DEC 2017. I feel like an extension will be more justified if I take both exams in q2? Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated- I tried calling my state board- no call backs.

You were relatively close for FAR but remember the saying “You aren't 7 points away from passing… you are 75 points from passing”. I would stay start over. Maybe you don't have to go into so much detail the second time around, but don't just go into MCQ again. Also, what program are you using? I find myself memorizing the answers sometimes, which makes learning tougher.

Also, if you only completed 2/7 SIMS, you definitely went over time somewhere. Did you time your MCQ? How much time did you have going into the SIMs?

I passed FAR in December and I did not really review SIMS, but I am probably the exception to the rule. I also work with journal entries in my job, so some of that came easier to me.

I do not see the need to rush to take them both. Focus on one thing at a time. With this score release, it's a little different, but I never understood people that move from exam to exam without passing. Focus on one – pass – (forget everything 😉 ) move on. I say study FAR and don't schedule it (depending on your location – in DC, they have availability all the time for different prometric locations) until you feel ready. If that gives you enough time to take a stab at REG, go for it!

Just don't rush to try FAR to just try and get REG out of the way. You may end up failing both.

I took REG on 3/10 and I still have AUD to go. It was reaaaaallly tempting to rush through REG to try a “Hail Mary” avoid the annoyance that is August release. But I'm very happy I didn't. Who knows if I would have passed REG if I gave up a few days.

    Anyway – Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response Ashley. I decided to take your advice, re-work FAR from scratch. I'm using Becker self study. My first pass through the material I only attempted the MCQ once per section, so that may have been the issue. The whole situation of delayed score release is unfair, but what can you do. Are you worried about the new format?
