I am scheduled to take FAR on Tuesday. I’ve been able to study about 15 hours and there is no possible way in my mind that I can pass. My NTS expires Wednesday so I can’t push it back. Should I just not show up, reschedule and take the test in this window. Or go in and fail and have to wait until October before I can take it again? This will be the 5th time I have sat for an exam while only passing 1. I don’t want to think about what another failing score will to do my confidence, which is already pretty low due to other factors (work, etc.)

Any advice is appreciated.

Also….if I just skip exam without canceling, can I still sit in this quarter?

If you do not show up for the exam it is considered a no show. It may take 7 – 10 days before the information is updated in the system. Once the system indicates that you did not sit for the exam you can reapply in the regular way to sit in this window. I got the flu the week of one of my exams and the exam had been scheduled for the last day available to test. The person I spoke with indicated that I did not have to cancel – which does save you some money.

I am in TX and go the TSBPA to request to sit for an exam. Not sure if all states follow the same procedures. The people at TSBPA were very helpful.

I would cancel the Tuesday, pay and request new NTS and schedule my exam for later this window. That way you will lose the fee but not lose the window and opportunity to pass another exam. I would not do “no show” because this way the things will go out of your control.

Yes,

The process works as follows. Prometric indicates you are a no show. The system is updated that you did not sit for the exam. TSBPA told me this takes between 7 – 10 days. Once the system shows you as not having tested you can reapply. Just go through the normal process.

When it happened to me – it actually took less than 7 – 10 business days.

Yes, call TSBPA and explain what happened. I think that is why my process took less than 7 – 10 days. My test fell on the last day of my NTS — got the flu the week of the exam. Called them less than 24 hrs before the test and explained what had happened. The lady was very helpful. Sorry I don't recall her name.

By the time you reapply it may be Aug before you can test – but that is still in this window.
