hi all, it is my first time to post here. Any response would be highly appreciated from my heart!!!

my question is :does the system memorize the times you have been retaking the section before?  In other words, the more times you attempted, the more difficult questions the system will give you?

the reason i asked this is that, i took FAR yesterday, the 1st testlet was hard!!!! it came out with all complicated concept questions and fancy long calculations!!! so are the 2nd testlet and 3rd testlet!!! all the three testlet are about the same difficulty level! crazy! it was so time consuming and i was struglling with all the three testlets and around half of them i am not 100% sure with and had to make a guess. And after 3 testlets, i had only 45 minutes left for simulations and it was such a disaster!

While this was my second try since the first try failed with 69. But the fist time i got pretty much normal experience like everyone else, the 1st testlet was easy to death, the 2nd was hard and 3rd was just little bit easier than 2nd or the same. 

I seriously want to know now that does the system memorize the times we retook before? how come i got 1st testlet so difficult? it’s so unfair!!! i have to start prepare again and retake in July….

FAR/REG/AUD begin on “medium” and graduate to “hard” if you do well.

If you had a hard exam, that's a good thing.

I had the same exact experience when I took it on April 5th.  Made a 71 in January and have not yet received my score for this time.  Question #1 was damn hard, lol…I thought I was supposed to get a decent first testlet, but guess not…lol

AUD 95 (3/5/10); BEC 83 (5/28/10); FAR 71, 72, 74, 82 (10/16/10); REG 65,80(11/23/10)

Interesting, I had similar experience with my second REG attempt and was wondering the same thing. I don't think that it's true though.
 As partial consolation I can say that if it was difficult for you – it was difficult for all takers that time. Which means better chance.

You simply got a hard exam like Jeff said. It might happen for that day or window. I guess it doesn't matter much because we are graded comparatevly to others and questions are weighed based on difficulty.

I feel so frustrating after this second try, because if all my three testlets came so hard, and so time consuming, i would always have no enough time left to have simulations done even partially. that means i never gonna pass the FAR section. since it is almost impossible to pass without finishing simulations fairly well (say at least 50% of simulations)…….i just think i will never pass FAR again if MCQ keeps coming out like this….. this time i only finished two communications and some easy tabs(2-3)….

It' my first time here. Congratulations Jeff for a great site. Had an awful experience today with my 2nd time FAR. First time I got a 74. I ran out of time the first time. But today, all the testlets were so difficult, including the sims. Getting so frustrated right now. First time was a breeze, but unlucky me, ran out of time. But this time, I have no clue. I guess I should switch from FAR mode, to REG mode and wait for the results.

seems we had exact same experience! i took it the day before yesterday. yes, the 1st testlet came out hard like awful. i did not know what's going on… how come so many fancy calculations and complicated concepts appeared even starting from the very 1st question on the 1st testlet……

On a brighter note,
I HATED my first AUD test. I felt like I was asked all the wrong questions, and I quickly realized that I didn't really know some concepts in depth enough. So, I studied my butt off and re-took AUD last week. My questions were a million times different from my first test. Not an easy test, but I feel confident about it.

CPAWanneBe, it should make you feel better or indiffirent. Harder exams are known to be easier to pass because they would be more difficult for other too. And you are studying second time, which might put you in a better position than someone who's studying first time..

i took FAR yesterday for the first time(first of four also)…i am nervous because all of my MC sections felt about the same level of difficulty…like not terribly difficult and not terribly hard by any means…so based on what everyone was saying maybe I completely bombing the MC?  maybe I just happened to know the material better than I thought?  also, my written communication was rather easy as well.  some of the sim tabs were outrageous though.  I am thinking I either got a 50% or a 86% lol.   to sum up, I have no clue what my results will be but now I am thinking def didn't pass…ugh

wow, so it seems this is how FAR is for this test window? that all testlets the same difficult? 
i felt terrible when i was struggling with the 1st testlet and thought it's because of my second attempt so the 1st testelt came out so indecent….
Since i spent so much time on all three testlet and only got time to finish two communication and a couple tabs, i have no way in passing i am sure for this time. As what i understood from people who passed, leave MC aside, in order to pass, at least a simulation out of two has to be done fairly well…..i am already ready to retake for 3rd try….holy shit

My first testlet was ridiculous – actually all the m/c were. I did not know the FIRST question – what a bummer. I marked at least 9 for review. Took 04/19. Still awaiting score so I know if I need to retake. It was just awful and I actually went in feeling pretty well prepared. The waiting is killing me.
