Hello everyone, first and foremost I want to congratulate everyone that passed the CPA exam this window as well as those who pass a section of the CPA exam. I am writing to reflect on some thoughts of my first exam and goals to seek revenge on FAR and pass next time around. I earned a disappointing 61 on FAR last testing window. I felt as though I was prepared, practiced heavily on MCQs, reviewed my notes (I use Becker) and studied the flashcards.

This time around, I decided to enhance my studying a bit and start from scratch. I bought the NINJA Notes and Audio as a supplement to the main material I use in my studies. So far it has helped me while at work or away from my home computer to listen to the notes and follow along reading them on downtime. Additionally, I am rewatching the videos, retaking the notes and will rework the MCQs in its entirety as well as Simulations.

For everyone in the forum that did not pass a section before retaking and eventually passed it, what studying strategy worked best for you and how did you implement the new or redefined tools to your already studying routine? Thank you all for sharing your tips to success, I plan to fight until I pass all parts of the exam. Take care everybody.

Good luck on your rematch with FAR. You can do it! I did better on midday exams also. My brain isn't human before 10 a.m. 🙂

evesocal: THANKS! I must admit to checking my score about 10 times since Saturday. I can't believe it is real. This weekend, we are going to gather up all my study materials and shoot them out of my husbands air cannon on the University campus where we both work. Looking forward to that…

    …but not my NINJA notes…so don't worry, Jeff. =)

@Akkula I read your post and I must say that your determination and decipline to pass FAR speaks volumes. I, like yourself and many others, quickly fell in the trap in doing hundreds, maybe thousands of multiple choice questions will pass us on exam day. True is simulations is what will ultimately get us over the hump.

While this exam is not the easiest in the world, a proper studying habit like yourself of in doing simulations and understanding the pure theory behind the MCQs (and journal entries) is what will enable us to pass. Thank you for your posts. I will do my best and work my hardest to be in the same position as you and pass FAR and ultimately the CPA exam. Take care.
