Rigidity of scoring

Just finished a simulated exam on Becker.

The actual simulations are scored by real people, right? I got my non-monetary exchange journal entries mostly right but got a very low score on the sim because the accounts weren’t in the right “slots.” If my journal entry looked like:

    DR Cash

    DR Old Equipment

    but the computer wanted

    DR Old Equipment

    DR Cash

Then it was marked wrong, which of course snowballed to the associated number being marked wrong too (and shockingly, most of my numbers weren’t wrong).

This isn’t something I would have to worry about tomorrow, right?

Another funny thing I just noticed is that I got an answer right in one of my sims that the Becker scoring marked wrong. It's only asking for a number and I have the exact number in there. Must just be their way of saying “give up now.” Charming. :-/

I can't say for a fact, but I highly doubt they would deduct points on that. The answer is theoretically and practically correct and the placement in the journal entry is just a technicality…

I know the AICPA can feel like a bunch of a jerks sometimes, but I don't think they are THAT cruel.

The SIMS are graded by computer but the order doesn't matter unless specified in the question. See johndoe1121's post from a week ago on the FAR – general discussion thread for more details. He asked the AICPA some questions and posted the answers.
