Retake FAR for the Third Time!

    I am sad to say it, but I have already failed FAR twice already.

    During my CPA journey, I used Becker throughout the FAR CPA review and I scored 68 in my first try, 58 in my second try… Feeling frustrated from the failure to pass the FAR exam, I just bought the Ninja Assault for $197.00.

    I really need to pass the FAR by March 2018 before my AUD score expires. Could anyone please advise me what to do now that I have BECKER FAR CPA review in addition to Ninja Assault? This is my first time using Ninja.

    Hi John,

    Same here! First time I took FAR I got a 52 and then this morning I found out I got a 71. I feel your pain. Like you, I also have Becker & just purchased the Ninja Assault Bundle. I am planning to retake my exam on January 18th since everything is still fresh in my mind (I took FAR last on Dec 8th).

    There is a great video in the FAR Q1 thread that walks through the best way to tackle things. My game plan is to read over my notes, go through all the Ninja MC and take notes on the solutions. After that I am going to go back through the MC again starting with the MC I was weakest in. Then a few days before my exam I will use the Ninja Blitz and reread my notes once more.

    I hope this helps! I know how annoying becker can be.

    Getting ninja was a good decision. Focus on MCQs and do every question available. Keep retaking sections where you score less than 90% and you should be in good shape for the retake. good luck!

    John- So sorry to hear you failed- IT SUCKS! I failed FAR Twice and passed on my third go round. I second the “get ninja” suggestion as well as look into buying Gleim test bank- Gleim was flat out so hard it made me want to cry and give up, however, it coupled with NINJA I am convinced is the reason I passed the third time.

    Good Luck and hang in there. You WILL pass it!

    and they ask me why I drink...

    FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
    REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

    @John @Meaghan I am right there with you guys. Failed FAR miserably on my first attempt. I am also using Becker and have been contemplating getting the Ninja Scout. Any particular reason you guys chose Ninja Assault package over Scout or Sniper? I was thinking of getting through my notes, Becker MCQs and then supplementing Ninja during my review phase. We are all in this together – we will get through it and Q1 2018 will be our time!

    OP trust me… do this exact strategy for retake- 1. Re-read entire Becker book in one week. 2 (most important) do 10-14 days of straight NINJA MCQ. Ninja mcq are KEY to pass far because it constantly refreshes your memory on all topics. Make sure to read explanations on each question. 3. Do 1-2 days of straight SIMS. 4. Take test. 5. Look at passing score.

    I used Becker as well. Cant stress the importance of the ninja mcq enough.

    @Jj would you recommend redoing the Becker MCQ/Sims as well? I was planning on getting the Ninja Scout for my review but if that's too late into the prep game, I may consider buying them sooner.

    No don't bother with Becker mcq they're too easy. The ninja mcq are harder than the exam IMO and the explanations are awesome. I think the Becker book is great but, personally, I think the rest of the program is junk.

    The key to pass far is repetition. If you spend all the time going through the nitty gritty mcq on Becker for each chapter by the time you reach the end you won't be fresh on the first 2 chapters.

    @SchrutBeet I would suggest the Ninja Sniper, as it includes PLUS which gives you access to the videos. Bob Monette, the lecturer, is amazing. He simplifies complicated topics and is thorough. It is about 25 hours of additional lecture, so a great review after completing Becker before hitting the Ninja MCQ's and SIMs like mad.

    According to Jeff, the Ninja Assault is 50% off now through Christmas.

    Therefore, it is best to purchase Ninja Assault for $197 instead of Ninja Sniper for $197. You get more study materials for the same price since I already purchased Ninja Assault. You can also purchase Ninja Scout for $127.

    I am so scared to taking FAR for my third time because I need to pass FAR before my passing scores expire.

    Thanks guys and all the best to studying!

    I feel like I wrote this post lol! 69, 57, and I lose Audit in March.

    I am trying out Surgent CPA review … supposedly they assess your knowledge and tell you specifically what you need to work on, very much like Ninja which I am repurchasing as well, but I figured a change may help me get where I need to be.

    Best of luck, we got this!

    AUD - 8/12/16
    REG - 10/7/16
    BEC - 11/18/16
    FAR - TBD

    I fully credit the Ninja test bank with preparing me well for my FAR pass in September. I highly recommend it. I just hit the MCQs and then beefed up on weak areas (governmental) by reading up and answering more questions.

    AUD - 56 - 68 - 61 - 9/8/16
    REG - 75
    FAR - 7/15/16
    BEC - TBD

    Failed twice using Becker. Bought Wiley for third try and passed. Different perspective helped. Tough to study a third time using the same material so just focus on the new material and then hit the old material again if you have time.

    Ninja MCQ prepared me well for the MCQ in FAR, buy it and go through everything at least once.

    Focus on problem areas and try to get your scores in those sections to 80+.

    I also used Becker to do SIMS and used this thread below.

    https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/potential-far-simulation-topics-straight-from-the-aicpa/page/5/

    I went from a 64 to an 84!

    BEC = 72 (6/08/16)
    FAR = ?
    REG = ?
    AUD = ?
