I started my CPA exam journey in August and took my exam in November. 3 straight months of studying. I studied almost every single day for about 3 hours a day, sometimes longer. I still felt like I wasn’t prepared at all. I used the Wiley textbook (read 2x and did all of the problems in it once), the WTB (all questions and simulations done at least 2x). Listened to NINJA audio every day during my commute (probably 15 complete times total), watched the Blitz videos twice, read the NINJA notes at least weekly and rewrote them 2x. I still failed with a 64. I’m really not sure where I went wrong. I feel like there is no excuse for failing after studying that much.

I want to retake the exam in January, but I’m not sure what I need to do differently this time. Do I just keep doing what I did and pray that I get better results next time?

also agree with acg5000. I didn't think FAR was the worst exam but it was definitely the worst to study for. I spent 7 months on it. I work and have two kids and it took me that long to feel like I was starting to understand everything that was being thrown at me. I went through the video lectures once. I took a ridiculous amount of notes during the lectures. Took another set of notes during mcqs on anything I wasn't getting. Did every mcq 3x and continually did progress tests. My third pass on the mcqs was when it finally started to pull together. It was a long long process but continuously pounding on those mcqs was key for me. Good luck.

If you can work through the journal entries, you can work through the questions… Combine that with recognizing fact patterns and you will be alright…

    REG 8/12 - passed 79
    BEC 7/13 - passed 84
    AUD 8/13 - passed 83
    FAR 11/13 - Passed 83

Now off to a new county...
