Well. I was so far off studying for my 1/26/10 date for the FAR exam, that I just rescheduled it for 4/27. I am still re-taking Reg on 2/26/10. I plan on studying FAR for all of January, restudying REG for all of February, then picking up FAR again in March and April. It was worth the $35, and better than spending another $300 after I failed. I just didn’t get to study during December the way I planned, and am being realistic. Besides, I always counsel my clients on adhering to unrealistic self-imposed deadlines, so I’m not going to make that same mistake.

Me too…

I was scheduled to take it on Jan 4th, I was about to kill myself one day because I was already almost certainly going to fail but I got a massive headache and couldn't study. I lied in bed for 3 hours trying to get the headache to go away when I realized, I need to reschedule this….I started thinking about my alternatives and decided if it was less than 50 bucks I'd do it, I checked and it was 35, well worth it IMO because I finally got two days of rest from studying. Going to pick back up tomorrow reviewing lectures 1-3, then picking up the rest and going to take the exam on Jan 12th instead.

I hear that. My problem is that I am just finishing 2 weeks vacation; my first vacation since last Christmas. I went a whole year of working/commuting 16 hours a day, studying (started studying in July), and was doing school in the beginning of the year to finish the requirements for the CPA. I think I just hit some burnout. When I looked at my five year old son and three year old daughter, I realized forcing that Jan 26 date was ridiculous. I mean, where am I really going? I'd rather take it later and maybe pass than take in January and almost certainly fail. And you're right, it's 35 bucks, so what. My sanity is worth more than that.
