    Hello all,

I just received by Audit exam grade results. I received a 74.

The results breakdown chart from the mailer said I was comparable to passing exam takers (by a point or two) on the Multiple Choice Questions (70% of the exam), stronger in Simulations (20% of exam) than the passing exam taker, and weaker in the Written Communications (10%) than the average student.

I realize that exam regrading rarely helps according to the NASBA website. However, it appears that the Written Communications section is the only subjective potions of the exam. I thought my written sectionsresponses were good.

Should I get a regrade? Has anybody gone thought the process? How quick is the response times? I believe that I have a good case for regrade because just one tick higher on the subjective Written Communications portion will result in a passing grade.

Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    James

I'm not sure how true it is, but I've heard that the written communications are also graded by a computer (which would pretty much knock the subjective portion out of the question).

I think you should re-take it…this way at least you'll be in control and won't have to waste a lot of money for a process that rarely results in a score change.

    FAR: 8/5/2010 - 89
    AUD: 8/24/2010 - 92
    REG: 10/11/2010 - 94!!
    BEC: 11/30/2010

I feel for you I think a 74 is a very tough score to get back. It really hurts to be so very close. But the reality is – the grade won't be chaanged and it will take a long time to get that news back.

Your time is better spent doing an intense review and improving your score a little in any of those weaker areas. Maybe improve t a few points on the areas that are weighed more heavily. Jeff has posted the actual number of re-scores that ended up with a passing grade and it is almost never (can't recall the actual number but it was like over 1000 requests and maybe 1 change to a passing score).

If it were me – I would skim everything, read those sections that I scored weaker and do a lot of MCQ and finally then practice WC. Be sure to use the keys words they are looking for in the WC. Retake the exam as soon as you can.

    Good luck!

    Regrades are worthless. Don't bother.

    FAR 92 - AUD 91 - REG 94 - BEC 86

I'm thinking about a “Score Review”, not a “Score Appeal”. There seems to be a difference. NASBA says score appeals have never “historically” resulted in a passing grade, but there does seem to be some hope with a review. I'm nudging a fractal point on written communication. Is the written part really graded by a computer? Seems odd.

I'd suggest that you just take 2 weeks to review everything like crazy and take it again while it's still fresh in your mind 🙂 You're so close if you just review things again real quick and take it I'm sure you'll pass. It'll cost the same and you'll probably get the results sooner (mid november vs. months from now)

    Just my two cents 🙂

    FAR-91 (7/29)
    AUD-99 (8/23)
    BEC-90 (10/1)
    REG-99 (11/3)
