Unfortunately I don’t have any since I will be retaking in a week, but hopefully those who have been through it can share. I will post mine after my retake.

    Hi Tina82,

I retook reg and here is what I did. I used Becker as my primary source and did not pass the first time. The second time around I supplemented with Gleim software and did both MCQ from Becker and Gleim. During the week I study for about 3-4 hours after work and about 8 hours on sat & sun. I basically have no life. I live and breathe for this exam. I am very motivated too and want to become a CPA. So a combo of all these things is really driving me to succeed. I also made my own flash cards for questions that I consistenly got wrong or things that I couldn't memorize.

    AUD - Passed 88
    REG - Passed 87
    BEC - Passed 78
    FAR - Passed 75

Thanks kambsa! I also used Becker exclusively the first time, but I think it was possible to pass that exam with Becker only, perhaps because of the exam itself that I got. Supplementing with Wiley this time around.

Hey Tina, I'm taking REG on 4/2 as well– this is my first time however. I'm in note rewrite mode and will be done by tomorrow… then I plan to do non stop MCQ and go through some simulations and topics I'm having a rough time on. I'm also planning to read through the NINJA notes a couple times.

Its going to be a busy week!

    ----------
    AUD - 74, 77! (1/2016)
    BEC - 80! (5/2016)
    REG - tbd (8/2016)
    FAR - tbd

    Study materials: NINJA MCQ/Audio/Notes

taking REG for the 7th time…FML!!!!!

past couple of times i've been stronger in mcq and weaker on sims. this time around i'm going to thoroughly go over sims on top of the regular mcq and notes review.

reg tip: don't be like me

    REG-65,71,74,73,70,74,79
    BEC-60's,60's,69,71,76*,78
    FAR-67,66,65,79
    AUD-54,60's,65,83*,69,80

    Here's what I did: 71, 72, 92.

First of all, don't skip anything in the book, read each and every line at least x2,

Do all the MCQs/SIMS until you know WHY that answer is correct,

I used Becker, its final review, Wiley test bank (only for tax portion, didn't have time to do b-law), and watched some portion of Roger cram,

Took extensive notes and read those over,

Kept drilling the notecards from Becker,

Don't underestimate b-law. I also read over the ethics portion again in the parking lot right before the exam!

If you have time, do the Becker final exam…don't worry, if you don't do well on it…just get feel of new questions!

Oh and keep drilling out the progress test!

    Good Luck!

Yea…I'll probably be taking it again after April 9th….I don't really care. I've already taken it twice. Bring it CPA grader!

Is there any way to pass reg without reading twice…I absolutely hate it and I find myself daydreaming as to what else I could do while I read – it's almost uncontrollable.

I've said this before but doing it twice is worse than studying the first time. I'm re-reading for the second time and doing mcqs. I also have lots of notes from the first round (basically a more condensed version of Becker). Will use my notes + ninja notes for a final read through. Most of the stuff is still fresh from January so it's more of a heavy review type studying this time around + extra mcqs from Wiley.

I am in dire need of tips as well. I failed REG with a 72 (feb 20th,2011) , and have no motivation to study it again. I used becker, and supplemented with wiley.

I am so lost. My score report says i was weaker on the TBS and fed tax process section, everything else was stronger or comparable.

Any tips on how to study for TBS? Or how to study it all again in general? I feel like I should study it again as everything is fresh in my mind still, but i'm so deflated.

    @nikhan

I'm not sure how useful it is to look at the report. For the stronger/weaker areas it was almost reverse of what I was expecting. My SIMs were comparable even though I didn't use the research tab (key btw – did you use on your first try?). I accidentaly exited the test otherwise would have used. I'm going over everything again – you should take it as soon as possible since you just took it, I took audit on 2/28 and can hardly recall anything already so glad that one is not a retake.

Nope, this was my second attempt. However, I don't count the first step, as I had a lot of personal issues going on at the time I took my 1st attempt.I did use the research tab, however, I think I got that question correct because I found exactly what I was looking for. Congrats on passing aud!

I have not written any other parts of the exam yet, and just feel like i want to just get this reg out of the way before i move on…?

Up to you. I only moved on from REG since I took a while to get scores so I didn't want to waste time in the testing window. If you feel like you're in a rut and need a fresh look at the material maybe it's worth tackling something else and then going back to REG. You'll probably get different advice from different people but at the end of the day you either have to commit to REG 100% this next round, or take a break from it and NOT beat yourself up over it. Some people suggest possibly investing in different study materials, but I paid a ton of $ for Becker so sticking with it and will only consider something else as a last resort – I did buy ninja notes/wiley test bank since it's a reasonable investment and many people on this forum highly recommend both.

Is Becker sufficient for b-law portion of REG? Doing Wiley questions but only have a week left and wonder if my time would be better spent reviewing tax with Becker/Wiley and only doing Becker for b-law.

    any tips appreciated. thanks.
