I have a week from now before my REG exam date. I am very iffy about the numbers that keep changing. For instance limit for Section 179 expense—instead of 250,000, it’s now 500,000. Should I expect a lot of changing numbers for the exam? Any help would be appreciated.

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 74,84 🙂
    REG - 76
    BEC - 72, 80

Don't worry about limits and phase outs. The test mostly focuses in on concepts, not specific limitations. That being said, if you are going to learn all the limits, make sure to learn the 2012 limits. Alhtough there was just an election don't go based on assumptions of what will happen next year.

    FAR: 85
    AUD: 80
    REG: 78
    BEC: 82

I think, if you have time, you should try to remember some of the more common limits/phaseouts. For instance, know the % for charitable contributions for both personal and corporate for the different types of contributions. Know the Mom & Pop exclusion for rental activity and know the phaseout point; Section 179 expense; small business stock loss allowed when it becomes worthless; possibly the education credits and child care credit. And I agree that you should know the 2012 amounts.

    FAR - 92 (4/27/12)
    AUD - 96 (7/17/12)
    BEC - 92 (8/30/12)
    REG - 91 (11/12/12)

I agree with @momto5, focus on the common limits and phase outs for 2012 and you should be fine.

Test went OK, I think. The more times goes by, the more concerned I am about the SIMS- didn't really expect what I got and didn't feel real solid on most of it. Felt good, overall, about the MCQ's. What scares me is that when I finished, I compared how I felt on this one to how I felt on the other 3. On each of the other 3 I felt like it could go either way, and then I ended up doing better than how I felt. So based on those 3, I assumed that I probably would pass this one because it didn't feel any worse, really, than those other 3. Then I get this “if you think you passed, you probably failed” feeling, so I am ready for anything this week – pass or fail. Would be really nice if it's a pass, of course – still hoping for that!
