So I’ve been posting in this forum for a while now and on the 27th I will be taking my first Exam FAR. I am really nervous now because it took me 3 months to go through the Wiley Book, and I have been reviewing for 8 days now. I put in about 8-10 hours a day during this review time and I worked backwards from the last chapter. I am still not done with my review currently on Monetary Current Assets/Liabilities. I still have Fixed Assets, Inventory to Review, Basic Financial Concepts to review and since it has been about 2-3 months since I’ve seen this stuff it takes me a long time to review.

After each review of chapters I work MCQ anywhere from 40-60 on each chapter right after I review it. My average WTB score is practice is a 68%. With only 3 more days I am really scared.. I used 11 vacation days for this exam and would be devastated if I did not pass. On top of that I need to go over SIMs.. I dont even know if I have time for a practice exam since I also have the Ninja MCQ.

On the last day I will def be going over all the notes ive taken throughout my review I also put down some MCQ in my notes that I got wrong, but going over all that will take a whole day for sure. I guess I am having a break down and I am sure so many people go through this so for most of the people on this forum this is nothing new… This is by FAR the most challenging experience I have endured. All I do is wake up and study as much as I can before I sleep… Well back to studying sorry for venting but this is the only place where people understand my feelings of being scared and under prepared.

Thanks @DingDing I feel like on the last day(tuesday) I am going to go over my notes per chapter and look over the SIMs for that chapter. I feel like it might help me get even more of an understanding of the concepts… I keep getting mixed reviews on the SIMs, but I did do the Pension SIMs in the WTB and I must say it helped me understand the JE for Pensions more. I still have couple chapters I have to review but I have been up since 8 and I should try to sleep for tomorrow… But your advice is much appreciated and GL with Audit!

I have such a hard time sleeping it is crazy sometimes ill just lay in bed for 2hrs+… This exam is brutal, but I guess it makes you a stronger individual going through these types of hardships.

@Stgeorge I totally agree!! It's such a big help to hear about everyone's experiences and all the support is awesome! I use CPAexcel so what I have been doing is skimming each lesson focusing on my notes that I have made and then going through the exam questions for each lesson in study mode so if I get something wrong I know immediately. I have also been doing 10 question exams of MC pulling questions from all topics. My scores have been similar to yours on those which is disappointing but a lot of the mistakes I have been making are due to not reading a specific detail of the question. I have to keep telling myself to read the question completely, which is hard to do when trying to limit each question to 1-1.5 minutes. I plan to continue going through the lessons, skimming the main points and then doing longer examples from the book in the big sections like Equity, Bonds, Leases, Pensions, SCFs, etc. I plan to really focus on Govt. and NFP tomorrow, then Monday review all of my notes that I have made during the review process and go over my notes on formulas and JEs. Hoping to be done studying by around 5pm on Monday and relax the rest of the night. Test is at 8am and I don't want to get burnt out the day before. Good luck with the rest of your studying!! I'm really hoping to get this one out of the way and move on to the next! We can do this 🙂
