Question about what time to arrive at Prometric for exam…

My confirmation sheet from Prometric says my appointment time is 12:30 and the duration is 4 1/2 hours. Does that mean I show up at 12:30 or that my exam starts at 12:30 and I need to be there no later than 12? Can’t find the answer to that anywhere on their website! Thanks in advance.

you should arrive at least 30 minutes early…I have arrived and hour or two early before and was allowed to start the test immediately. That's a perk when you want to take it midday and not worry about getting out late or delaying the start.

    I agree.

Note: The 4 1/2 duration is just for prometric scheduling purposes and includes the time to log on, view instructions and take the post-exam survey. You will still only have 4 hrs to take the exam, but they reserve the spot for 4.5 hrs.

I arrived 30 mins early for REG (11:30) for a noon appointment. It took ten mins for registration and they let me go in early. I have taken several other exams with prometric and they always let me go in early as long as a seat is available.

I like to go in early as well, I typically shoot for 30-45 minutes before the exam, I like to start my exam early and they have always let me in.

That's great to know. My testing site is an hour drive for me so I plan on leaving early to get there. If I had to sit in the parking lot long and wait, I think my nerves would get the best of me. Thanks again for all of your help! This exam is so intimidating and not knowing what to expect at the testing center makes it even worse! I'll be so glad to get this first one under my belt.

If it's your first test get there 30+ minutes early. I had so much adrenaline in me it took forever for me to get the fingerprinting done. For your non-first tests, you can authenticate and go in pretty quickly. The exam isn't set where it has to start at 12:30 and not 12:31 or 12:29. Just get there on time and get your mind on business.
