For the intense notes, is it better to write your notes out by hand or type them? I feel writing them would help me retain the information more but take more time whereas typing would be faster and help me stay more on schedule. Thoughts on the best approach?

I hand wrote mine, but they weren’t “intense.” For my notes I would try and just write down the concepts for the mcq questions I was missing, and then the major topics / acronyms. I think part of the issue with the exams are everyone thinks they need to know everything, and that makes it impossible. Stick to the major points the study programs teach and are repetitive on. They are successful with their study programs for a reason. IMO I would spend more time practing mcq’s and understanding what I was missing, than doing crazy notes.

I always hand-wrote my notes; but I wouldn't say I took intense notes as I didn't want to end up copying 90% of what's in the textbook (I used Becker). I usually only wrote down the key concepts and formulas before going to the MCQs. I have tried typing out notes before but personally didn't find them to be very helpful as I was typing too quickly and not really processing everything.

I found the ninja notes to be helpful. especially doing notes then doing mcq's. i almost like using the notes instead of reading the book. Try the Ninja notes. They also have the necessary formulas as well so no need to search the book for formulas like basis, or amt…..etc.
