    AUD 51.52%

    BEC 52.27%

    FAR 51.18%

    REG 52.41%

These are the best I have ever seen. I wonder if that is why Q4 was so darn hard? I am interested to know if these are indeed the highest rates since the time CBT started…….

It gives me hope. We shall see folks; Merry Christmas to all and to all a CPA.

Upon further review Q3 was pretty impressive last year; Q1 & Q4 are the lowest for 2008

I read somewhere on Jeff's site that perhaps due to the increase in accountants being pressured in to taking the exam, say, to keep their job in this wretched economy, more and more people are taking it. The examiners might be making it even harder to weed folks out.

Lucky me, I take FAR on Q1 which had the lowest pass rate in 2009 for any section, 45.54%.

May the examiners have mercy on us.

Off topic question, but how many people sit for the exam a year? Purely the number of candidates, not how many tests are taken. I read that there are approx. 22k new candidates each year, is that the best estimate?
