Is there a consensus on what needs to be known going into the FAR exam? I was just doing a practice problem that didn’t present any PV factors. I know how to get PV/FV of a single amount pretty easily, but didn’t think that they’d actually pull out PV/FV of annuities on the exam. What’s the word on this?

They always gave me the PV/FV factors for the multiple choice when needed.

I don't want to go into too much detail, but I also had one simulation where they gave me a table and had me determine what the correct factor to use was.

FAR: May 1st, 2014 - 91
AUD: May 29th, 2014 - 97!
BEC: July 16th, 2014 - 91
REG: August 29th, 2014 - 88

I had a WTB practice SIM today for FAR where it said there would be PV tables on the Resources tab, but there was no Resources tab. That was kind of annoying. So I looked up the tables online and got it right. Obviously I won't be able to do that on the test, so I'm hoping the actual test will be better designed than WTB.

You should know how to calculate a pv or pvoa. In some case you will be given the table, but I have heard that there are problems where the Pv tables weren't given.
