OK I’m about to lose it here. I have provisional status in Illinois to sit for the exam (achieving my 150 hours this semester, will be done in May). Illinois is a non-NASBA state, so all of my scores have to be checked through the Illinois Board of Examiners. I took REG as my first exam on 2/20 since I thought I’d struggle with it most When I logged on to see if anything was posted, I got this great little message: “Exam scores cannot be viewed because final transcript(s) needed to complete approval have not been received.” I called the board to see if there was anything I could do to find my score out early – of course there’s not. I have to wait until frikin’ MAY apparently!!

Anyone dealt with this before?? Is there any way to get around this at all? This is absolutely ridiculous, over 2.5 months until I get my score back :(. I don’t even know what to do right now. I started studying for FAR, but I was hoping to jump right back into REG if I didn’t pass it.

Any advice?? I heard there was a back way to check exam scores – try to sign up for it again, if it lets you then you failed, if you can’t, then you passed. Any truth to this? I was so ready to get my score today and tomorrow, and this is just a kick in the nards.

I had the same situation last year when I was finishing my last accounting class in spring. I took the test on May 27th and until I sent them my final transcript, I was in the dark. My next test was scheduled July 5th and I finally received my score in the mail a few days prior, so I was nervous to open and possibly bum myself out if I failed.

Unfortunately there is no other option other than waiting until you are done and then sending your final transcript off to the board. I called them often to speed it up, but honestly doubt that had any impact.

As for the back-door score trick, I believe I have read on this board that the new NASBA website pretty much closed that loophole.

@Skippy – Thanks for the reply. That's what I was afraid of. I guess I'll just have to stop complaining and move on. I just wish I hadn't spent all that mental and emotional energy the past couple of days worrying about my score now that I know I won't know until May.

Looks like you passed that first exam you were worried about, so that gives me hope!

Just keep studying for FAR and be patient. Waiting 2.5 months isn't fun but a year ago that was pretty much standard.
