    Hello everyone:

I’m signed up to take my first CPA exam- FAR on April 7,2018. I just read the rules and it seems like I’m not allowed to bring pen, paper, water, or food.

This is a bit of a concern as I sometimes write out questions using pen and paper. Additionally, I am planning on having a snack halfway through the exam. Do they enforce these rules? I’m considering getting in the habit of not using pen and paper so as to be prepared.

Additionally, in the meanwhile I have finished all the Wiley CPA lessons. Any suggestions on how to use my time to study? I figure I’ll focus mostly on multiple choice as I score worse on that than task based questions.

    Final question:

How long will it take to get my score? Officially it seems to say june 29 but there’s just no way I have to figure. Thanks.

As of now, the June 29 date is the date for Q2 unless they update in the near future.

Prometrics rule are pretty strict and you're allowed to have a break so bring a snack.. They will provide you with writing materials and of course water is there.

    Study Material:
    GLEIM
    BEC - FEB/2012
    AUD - FEB/2012
    FAR - JULY/2012
    REG - JULY/2012

You can eat and drink on the break. You put all your stuff in a locker. I would bring both food, water and any medicine you might need. My second test the water fountain didn't work and I got dehydrated by the end of the exam.

You'll receive detailed instructions once you schedule your exam.

Hmm, I didn't consider the water fountain breaking or something, that would suck. I will bring water to my next exam.

You can actually request a pencil and papers via candidatecare@nasba.org I like to write stuff down on paper using pencil when working on calculation-based questions for FAR instead of using the default marker and laminated graph papers the prometric test centers provide you.

The general rule is that you have to send the e-mail at least a month prior to your exam date, but I sent my request 11 days prior, and still got it approved so it doesn't hurt to try. The worst they can say is no.

The 2018 Q2 score releases for FAR, REG, & AUD are scheduled for June 27. BEC scores are scheduled for June 29.
