Hey guys, this is the first time posting and also first time taking a CPA exam tomorrow!

I’ve been studying with becker, and I’ve been getting about 88%’s on progress tests (100MCQs, 60MCQs, etc). Am I ready for this exam?? I took the sample finals and I scored around a 65% on both, but I know they are harder than the actual exam.

    Thanks for the help guys!

It does sound like you are going to give yourself a good chance. I didn't take practice test for AUD so I am not sure how comparable they are but I know for REG I was making 70-75 on practice tests and I skimmed by so I think you are giving yourself a good chance as long as during the exam you stay focused. Also, I have passed AUD and REG with getting ‘weaker' on the sims, so I think it is possible to kick butt in MCQ and not do well in the sims and still pass.

Thanks for the reply! I have a feeling that the MCQs for Becker are becoming too familiar to me, I mean I think I have a lot of these memorized. I think I'm just gonna take another AICPA sample test just to get some other questions.

I did not get a score report with my weaker areas for an exam. Do not all states send those?

Yes. I also have a feeling I'm been memorizing all the MC. I score around 87% on Becker practice test and 88% on Wiley practice test every time I test 100 MC practice test.

I'm actually more nervous about AUD that I was about FAR. With FAR, I knew that I didn't memorize the questions and I actually understood the topic and know how to calculate to find the answers. With AUD, it feels like I just memorize the answers. I know the rules, but I'm afraid if the exam asks the same question with different wording, I'll get tripped up. ARGHH!!

In Texas you get a break down no matter if you passed or failed. It is pretty awesome.

Some people tell me not to study the Becker textbook once you go through the lectures. Is that a good advice? I mean I haven't read the non highlighted texts and I'm thinking I should at least take a look at those. What do you guys think?

I hear audit practice exams are 10-15 points lower than actual for Becker. You are borderline passing and I'm guessing weaker on SIMS so I would make sure you're good with those. I think you have a good shot at passing.

I heard REG was 15 pts lower as well. I was scoring 75 on the practice exams and ended up with an 89 so I think that is pretty much spot on. Same with FAR.

Using Becker, Ninja Notes, and CpaReviewForFree

    FAR - 87 (2/17)
    REG - 89 (4/21)
    AUD - 89 (5/31)
    BEC - 89 (7/11)

I don't because I have the Ninja Notes. I read those over and over instead.

I can only speak on my experience for FAR so that's the only test I've taken, but I did not read anything that Becker didn't tell me to highlight. I figured anything that wasn't highlighted, I'll probably learn by getting that MC choice wrong and read the reasons why it was wrong. If that wasn't enough, then I'd locate that subject in the book.

It sounds like I'm ready for the MCQs, but I should be prepared for the SIMs. Should I be doing the practice SIMS over and over? I feel like it's useless since Becker doesn't allow you to use the authoritative literature for a lot of the topics that aren't related to the research question.

How would you guys go about studying for the SIMS for AUD?

I just re-did all the A2 MCQS, and after that I did another 100MCQ progress test, I got a 96%. I think I'm ready for the exam tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone who's taking exams in the next few days.
