Procrastinating over dificult areas – FAR

    There are certain areas of FAR that I am weak in (such as bonds, stockholder’s equity) that I keep avoiding. I know I need to master these areas in order to pass. Any advice for tackling difficult areas?

    I’m not sure what my fear is. Maybe it’s of never understanding the material.

    You've gotta master these topics! My fear is Pensions πŸ™‚ I'm a big fan of formulas and JEs to compartmentalize the information…I make charts with formulas or JEs and stick them up on my wall and review them every chance I get. Flashcards are great, too. Just keep writing and writing….it's gonna stick.

    That's a good idea. Keep writing stuff. I did actually buy quite a few notebooks recently.

    I'll start doing that tonight. Thanks! πŸ™‚

    I agree – MCQ's are great, especially for weak areas. Also for weak areas, watch the sims! The FAR sims totally killed me in my difficult topic areas.

    I have a few weeks left until exam time. Every time I think about extending it, I think about what Steve Jobs would tell me (err, yell at me): “A few weeks left? I woud do it in 10 days.”

    He was demanding, but somehow inspired people to live up to their potential.

    @Mary

    Whenever I feel myself wanting to slack in my studying, I just picture Steve Jobs standing behind me with his hands on his hips. Perks me right up!
