Taking my first CPA exam in a week and it’s FAR.

Any advice on how to attack the sims?

I hear about things such as research sims and being able to find answers word for word sometimes?
can someone explain strategy on this?

Or anything else for that matter

Sometimes on research questions, you will find exactly what you are looking for and sometimes they can be a lot harder. It is just the luck of the draw with how good you are at using search terms.

Overall with the sims, more than actually studying sims, just know the material. If studying sims helps you better understand material, then study them for that reason. Practicing sims for the sake of practicing sims will probably not help you much.

For those of you that already too the exam, how much time did you spend practicing sims?
Did you really spend a lot of time, or just focus on understanding the concepts & spend more time on the MCQ's?

I started passing my exams after I started practicing the sims. the first couple times I was like eh, that's a waste of time. But I kept getting weaker in the sims and failing. I finally figured out that I learn by application, so I spent a lot of time doing the sims and then when I would study my multiple choices, I was so much better at them because I had done hands on application. I think it depends on the type of learner you are. I try to do all the sims in Becker and all the sims in ninja.

Do you feel that Becker sims are a good representation of the actual exams?

I feel like (NINJA's) practice SIMs after working through MCQ helps solidify your understanding of the material. It's not for the realistic feel but it gives you a different view of the material.
