AnonymousInactiveThank you for your encourage for the journey. I only got comparable score on my sim. I was lucky since more than half of the questions (4 out of 3 tabs) I was able to find answer through research tab. I think doing Wiley textbook and Gleim textbook helps me reasoning when I was doing sim. Keep practice MCQs with a different database other than Baker and Wiley since you have remember those answers. Just use them as practice exam. Maybe you were too tired or stressed during the exam. I am sure you are going to ace the exam next. Have a nice weekend!

AnonymousInactive@Peanut- That is strange. Who knows how they grade these things? My only guess is that he/she had more stronger performance on MCQs and less weaker performance on the Sims. This is why I dislike the new Performance Report. On the old format, the performance reports would have scores as well. Let me show you my performance report for that 52 I got in FAR back in 2009, which I still have on file, lol…
Concepts (17-23%)- 57 (Passing Candidates- 71) = Weaker
Presentation (27-33%)- 60 (Passing Candidates- 72) = Weaker
Transactions & Events (27-33%)- 62 (Passing Candidates- 72) = Weaker
Governmental (8-12%)- 41 (Passing Candidates- 71) = Weaker
Not-For-Profit (8-12%)- 35 (Passing Candidates- 70) = Weaker
Now, isn't that a more helpful Performance Report? As you can see, even though my performances were Weaker on everything, Governmental & NFP were the most pitiful. Not sure why the AICPA eliminated that. Now all we get is Stronger, Comparable or Weaker.

misanthrope87ParticipantI'm sorry about your score. =/ I agree with mini on that you should start anew and take the exam later than beginning of April. From looking at your scores, I really do think you can do this!! You did pass the two beasts, and you make impressive improvements with additional tries. You probably know this, but what I tell everyone about the SIMS is that it is really important to leave a lot of time for the SIMS and abuse the research tool like crazy. I'm usually really confused on most of the SIMS I get, but the time and research tool really saves me every time. Another thing on the SIMS is that you should definitely stay calm and not flip out, even if you don't know how to do any of them! It's not like you're new to this, but it's how I really feel about SIMS in general. So I'm sorry if I'm saying some obvious crap.

PeanutParticipant@misanthrope87, thank you. I did utilize my research tab for all the SIMs I could. The reason I'm so hesitant to buy an entire new review course, is because, with REG I bumped my score 20 points just by adding the Wiley test bank to my review. I've always felt Becker is sufficient on it's own, plus a little Wiley action. I guess I'm viewing it as, if I just buy the Gleim test bank I should be able to bump my score more. Then again Yaeger offers $120 off if you switch to them. I'm still indecisive =/ I'd like to see people who have switched from Becker to Yaeger–specifically for AUD, and passed. I see a ton of people use only Becker and score in the 90's—what's wrong with me!

mla1169ParticipantPeanut I'll admit I didn't read this thread as thoroughly as I could have, but have you tried the ninja notes? When I was waiting for AUD as my last score and ended up with a 71 I was CRUSHED. I restudied using the Ninja notes and an obscene number of Wiley mcq's and pulled it up to an 84
FAR- 77
AUD -49, 71, 84
REG -56,75!
BEC -75Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

ihatestudyingParticipantpeanut….for what its worth, i took audit like 4 times and finally passed this last time using exammatrix..i also just ordered for REG to stick with it… as you do the questions it keeps track of your good topics and rough topics and also question types and the next time you study, it automaticcaly hits the topics you have trouble with…it adapts with you as you study, which i really liked…
so if your looking for somehting affordable to switch it up a little. it may be worth taking a look at the website.
good luck to you!

GottaGetThruThisMemberPeanut, there's nothing wrong with you. Your results clearly indicate you know the material. You just need to learn to apply it to the sims. I studied with Becker and never hit the 90s. You've received a ton of advice, but ultimately you know what's best. You've passed three other exams. What did you do differently on this one?
Personally, I think you should stick with what you have… it seems to be working. Just make sure during your review you're spending enough time on the sims to really understand them.
Keep your chin up! You can do this!
B- Passed (2nd Try)
A- Passed (2nd Try)
R- Passed (2nd Try)
F- Passed (3rd Try)Never give up!

AnonymousInactive@Peanut- Yaeger is great for AUD and I don't think I would've passed it without that course. I liked it a lot.
Yaeger helped me with BEC, AUD and FAR, but it didn't work well with me when I took REG. Even the Wiley book wasn't helping much. I had to buy both the 2011 and 2012 Gleim book & test prep and the Simulation Wizard to finally be able to pass this beast. Sometimes, we need to switch to a different course. Just because one course helps us with one section, it may not necessarily be the right course for us with another section.

PeanutParticipantYou guys are freaking awesome. Thanks for all the great advice…
PPOA: Peanut's Plan Of Attack
I don't start my Big4 job til September, but I will start working full time either this week or next. I think what I will do is go through all of Becker again, just once. It's going to expire in April, so why not. I'm reading section by section, and doing all the MCQs. I'm almost done Chapter 1. That'll take me a little over a week (if I don't start working this week). I've decided to go with Yaeger, it's actually $150 off for “converting,” so it will be $390 bucks. I'm guessing it will just be a refresher, but again, why not. I want this to be my last exam EVER. I already have the Wiley online test bank, but I heard Yaeger comes with a book of Wiley questions, is this true? I still might buy Gleim test bank too—I'm going “Balls to the walls” <<as Yankeeaccountant would say.
My question is, for those of you who did use Yaeger, how long did it take to go through the entire program?

AnonymousInactiveYour score report is pretty much the same as mine, Peanut.
Good luck! I just started re-studying today.
