I just got my last score on June 8th..I’m finally done. Cried my eyes out all day. I finally have my life back 🙂 But not sure what I need to do next…I still need to take my ethics exam, but I have my hours already. Can someone please help me out? Or lead me to the appropriate website? Thanks a bunch

My state board then contacted me and had me fill out something like an application for license which included my experience??? Once they had proof of my final score, the results of my ethics exam, the application, and more of my money, they issued my license. In ND it took about another month to finish the paperwork (from the time they were notified that I had passed the final section).

Your CA state board should be able to point you in the right direction.

Congrats on passing! The CA Board of Accountancy CPA Licensing Applicant Handbook lays out the CPA application process: https://dca.ca.gov/cba/publications/applbook.pdf . Also, you can find all the forms described in the handbook here: https://dca.ca.gov/cba/forms/index.shtml#applicants

The ethics exam is offered here: https://www.calcpa.org

good luck with the ethics or as i like to call it audit part II since all of the questions are about audit independence. it's harder than you think but open book and you get 6 tries to pass (without having to repay) so nothing to worry about. thx for the congrats, found out my last passing score in the Feb release, got offficially licensed in April. it takes about 6 weeks to get licensed once you get all of your paperwork in.

the cpa exam journey may have come to an end but your journey as a cpa is just beginning. good luck on your new journey and again, congrats on becoming a CPA.

@jtcali: Thank you! I'm pretty excited about it. It was surreal at first. I wasn't so much happy that I would get those 3 little letters behind my last name but more so that I finally got my life back. Those were tears of joy! What a relief!! Then, after everyone kept congratulating me it finally sunk in. I am becoming a CPA! wow! I was proud of myself.

So did you study ethics after you found out you passed your last exam in February? Any tips for ethics? I took my last exam May 31st. Should I just jump into ethics?

Also, after we passed all for exams, do the exams ever expire?? For example, had I not passed BEC then I would lose Audit in August. Since I passed my BEC exam, do I still have until August to pass Ethics before I lose Audit. I just want to ensure I never have to take those exams again!

Thanks for you help! I really appreciate it!

I took the ethics exam right after I found out that I passed my last part. There's no studying involved in the exam. You get a pdf of the material when you buy the exam so you can just search the pdf for the answers. The only tip I can offer is to write down the chapter number and paragraph you got your answers from for each question because if you fail the exam they let you know the chapter numbers of the missed questions.

Once you pass all 4 exams they never expire. The ethics exam has nothing to do with other 4 exams so don't worry, you can take it whenever you want. But with that being said, you need to pass it to get licensed.

    Good Luck!
