Partnership Accounting in FAR?

I am sure this question has been asked before but I can’t seem to find a definitive answer. Is partnership accounting tested on FAR? CPAExcel doesn’t cover it but Wiley and NINJA obviously do. I have taken FAR twice so far and failed both times but I don’t remember seeing any partnership accounting questions on those attempts. I looked at the AICPA content and skill specifications (https://www.aicpa.org/BecomeACPA/CPAExam/ExaminationContent/ContentAndSkills/DownloadableDocuments/CSOs-SSOs-Effective-Jan-2014.pdf) and there is no mention of partnership accounting on FAR. So I guess the golden question is, should I study partnership accounting for far? I just don’t want to waste time studying for something that will never be on the exam. Has anyone had anything partnership accounting related on their far exam (I just want to know simply, was it tested)?

It not smart to ever assume something won't be tested if it's in your review material. The partnership accounting isn't overly complicated just be sure to review it. I think there are definitely more important topics to look at, but ALL information in your review materials should be studied.

    F - 2/15/2014 - 85
    B - 2/26/2014 - 88
    R - 4/1/2014 - 83
    A - 4/21/2014 - 95

You should know the basics on partnership accounting as you may get one question on the FAR exam. CPAExcel covers this topic under REG. If you read the FAR NINJA notes for partnership accounting you should be fine for the FAR exam. For the REG exam you will need to know the details found in the CPAExcel material.

    AUD - 76!
    REG - 66, 78!
    BEC - 69, 69, 75!
    FAR - 70, 73, 79!
    Ethics Test - 98!

Thing is its such a small piece that often times it isn't tested; that doesn't mean it won't be. Anything in the body of knowledge outline provided by the AICPA is fair game; whether in a review course or not. Never try to time these exams because that is a ticket to a 74…

Partnership accounting is one of the easier topics in my opinion (basic math), and I would definitely study it, because I've heard that questions can and do come up

    B - TBD
    A - 87 (5/29/2014)
    R - 7/17/2014
    F - 85 (4/14/2014)

In my experience, some subjects show up on exams from different exams. If you're familiar with most of the material, you can avoid wasting time being surprised and work through the question in a methodical way. Maintaining your poise and staying calm is huge in working through the exam successfully.

I was trying to figure that out, too– why it isn't mentioned in the CSOs when it's fairly well agreed upon by review courses that it will be covered. The best I can come up with is that it falls under “business combinations.”

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)
