    I have about 25 days remaining for my FAR exam date, and I am so overwhelmed with reviewing everything. I have Ninja Sniper and Becker Final Review. I used Becker as my main study material. I’ve been trying to review everything one by one and then start Final Becker Review, take Mock Exam then move on to hammer out Ninja MCQs in the last week but I am just so frustrated and overwhelmed by the amount of materials and I honestly don’t know if I can pass this thing. I was reviewing F3 and it has so much details and so many things I do not remember. I think I just need some motivation and advice.

    I am losing steam too. I have three weeks left, use Roger, and have already been through the course material once. My game plan from here on out is to review and re-write all my notes and do tons of MCQ (been at this for a week), then with approx two weeks left work on a couple mock exams, review problem areas, and do more mcqs. I've experienced so many ups and downs in this whole process… right now I am in a slump and losing focus and motivation. I just keep that date in mind and how much I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS AGAIN.

    As far as retaining material, it is overwhelming, but I've been trying to break it down into really focused notes, formulas, and definitions. I do this by re- and re-re-writing my notes to get key points as concise as possible. That makes them easier to memorize and then apply. I've also been using flashcards which can be helpful.

    Good luck!

    oh wow eas0014!!! I read your post and feel like the words came from my head.
    I am in the same position exam is in 27 days (i moved it out 4 days this AM bc I am freaking out). I have NO motivation to study. Watched all the Roger lectures and still feel like MCQs are in another language and that I am not in that “review” stage yet. This is my last exam and I really want to be done before the new year! But each day I tell myself tomorrow I will buckle down, die hard study and it will click and each day I am closer to running out of tomorrows.

    Now on to the advice….for what it worth anyway….
    I bought Ninja as well – with the plan to use Roger for lectures and then Ninja MCQ. I bought the mid package which also included lectures. So other day I started watching one to see what it like.. one turned into two and now I am about half way done (giving myself till Sunday to be done). I think it is helping bc it is giving me a difference perspective.
    Breaking yourself out of your cycle might help. I am not sure how many exams you have taken but after awhile it is repetitive and you definitely lose motivation. It seems to be helping for me. The good (and bad thing) for us is we have approximately a month left. A lot can be done in that month but again it is only a MONTH! 🙂

    I know my advice may not help you, but I hope you can find what you need to reach this goal knowing that there is someone out there who feels EXACTLY like you do – an identical Twin! LOL

    @Olivarthgb It seems like we'll be agreeing on a lot of topics as I am sitting for AUD in January right after FAR in December as well. This is my first exam and FAR is just ridiculous, I am only used to exams from school which only covers 4 or 5 chapters per exam. But to store 10 chapters with various topics and details is just ridiculously overwhelming for me but thank you for your encouraging words, I wish you the best luck on your exam day! @Sweet<3soontobeCPA Thank you for your kind words, I am glad to know I am not the only one feeling this way, you have already passed the other three so this must be very exciting for you. Are you referring to the video lectures from Bob Monette? I watched his videos of NFP and Governmental accounting and it really helped a lot. Good luck to you on exam day!

    Yes, those are the lectures. Glad to hear they help with NFP and Govt. Two topics I do not have much familiarity with.

    Don't stress over it being your first exam. You did the RIGHT thing taking FAR first. I wouldn't suggest taking it last as I have. Once you complete it your 18 month windows begin. The other exams aren't easier per say but the material is a lot less overwhelming.

    @eas0014

    I felt the exact same way two weeks ago when I began reviewing for FAR which is also my first exam. I found Becker's final review extremely helpful. I work full-time, so I would do FAR final review in the mornings before work, then hammer out as many multiple choice questions as my brain could handle after work. Now, in my final days of review, I have finished FAR final review and am focusing on my weak areas and writing and rewriting the journal entries I have trouble remembering. I find if I know the journal entries, I can answer any question related to the topic that's thrown at me.

    I pasted a Link to a thread that you may find helpful to prepare for SIMS.

    Bottom line…it will get better in the coming days.
