I tried to search for this topic and came up empty-handed, so I apologize if it’s already been asked countless times.

I’m studying FAR right now using Becker and I’m starting to get really burned out. I just finished F5 (this is leases and bonds for non-Becker people) and I would really like to skip to the “easier” stuff like governmental and non-profit than dive into pensions and deferred taxes. I’m not planning on skipping F6 and F7 altogether, I just want a break from so many calculations and would like some theory! (Missing AUD right now. Never thought I’d say that.)

So my question is, does it really matter what order you study in? Have any of you studied out of order for FAR and been okay?

    AUD - 88
    REG - 76
    BEC - 88
    FAR - scheduled for 10/20/14

I just finished F6 and uggg it was as bad as F2 for me so I feel your pain. The second half was on deferred taxes and that wasn't so bad. Since I've taken a class on nonprofit/government accounting, I can say that governmental is definitely different from regular accounting. So you can probably skip ahead and study that & nonprofit an come back to F6 & F7.

I'm definitely feelings bit burned out right now too. It's also year end at work and I was out 3 days for training the 2nd to last week of September so I was a bit behind too. Hoping I get my motivation back soon cause the next 2 weeks are going to bed tough @ work too!

    BEC 8.14.14 - 87!
    FAR 1.8.15 - 89!
    REG 4.15.15 - 86!
    AUD 7.2.15 - 90!

    Application submitted 8.6.15
    Licensed CPA 8.19.15

I use Becker and I've been studying out of order. Sometimes earlier chapters make more sense after working through the later chapters. Just do progress tests often to keep the old material fresh. The amount of material in FAR is overwhelming.
