Only short progress test after each chapter?

What do you all think about the strategy of just doing a maybe 30 question progress test after each chapter and then moving on to the next chapter? I want to use the NINJA method of waiting for all MCQs until the end, but I would feel a little better having at least some sort of small idea of my basic understanding of the chapter. Waste of time or no?

Any input would be appreciated on if this would actually be beneficial or if it would be an illusion of comprehension with only 30 questions.

    Thanks for any help!

i think 30 isn't enough. as you said, there could be an illusion. maybe 30 and 3 sims? The point of the MC is to make sure you know the material you've read, and it's easy to make sense of something in your head to only later find out you had it completely backwards. I don't think it's a bad idea though, because people end up diving too deep into FAR and don't have enough time in the end. You need some kind of cut off when first going through the material. If you're gonna do 30, make sure you have proper review time, because you really need to focus on sims to get a good idea of journal entries to know. Doing SIMs can really suck up time

I never hold my MCQ until the end. I usually read the material, then take all the multiple choice for that section. Then move on to the next section. Once I'm done going through all of them that way I either go back through all of the MCQ a second time or focus on the ones I got wrong the first time through. The MCQ really do drill the information into your head so it's good to work on them as much as possible. Just don't forget to take a little review quiz on ALL prior material before you start a new section so you won't forget the stuff you studied 3 or 4 sections earlier.

For FAR, I did just a few questions from each topic when I was in my main learning mode just to make sure I was understanding the material, and then did most of my MCQ later when I was closer to the test. But I don't know if I passed yet. I feel like I did well on the MCQ and if I didn't pass, it was because I didn't do quite well enough on SIMs.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)
