Sorry, I guess I’m just thinking of reasons to panic. I took FAR today, and I was wondering if it matters what order you list your line items in the journal entries on the sims (debits first, highest numbers first, etc)??? I think for the most part, I did the debits first. I don’t remember reading anything in the directions specifying. Does this matter? I know I’m probably just panicking for nothing, but just wanted some re-assurance. Also, you are supposed to use absolute values for the numbers in all sims, right? For example, under the credit column, you wouldn’t list (1000), just 1000? I know some of the sims specified to do this, but not all.

This has been discussed on here before and I believe the consensus is to put debit's first. I always thought that entries were in order by current and non-current. That may not be a standard but just a pet peeve of my Acct 2010 professor who was really, really, really old.

I guess I was just thinking that the computer grades it by checking account names, amounts, and whether it was credit/debit, not in the order. It would seem logical if order mattered that it would clearly be specified in the directions. Hopefully, it doesn't matter.

Has anyone passed and know for sure they didn't put their debits first? Lol. Would make me feel better!

I asked my Becker instructor this a few weeks ago. He said that order doesn't matter, as long as account names and amounts are right (and on the right sides).

Thank you so much. I was seriously on the verge of having a mental breakdown. I even went back and recalled every single entry I made, and realized I may have only done it on about 3 out of 10+
